Desti Hostel

My second excellent stay at a Desti hostel. The building itself had a very cool design and I imagine it would be a very lively place to stay during the peak season. The dorm and bathroom were very clean like in the other Desti I stayed in. The kids at reception were so nice and helped me book tickets that otherwise would have been very difficult to book as a non-Chinese speaker. The hostel is not in Lijiang proper, it is in a different old Town that is also very nice and quieter than Lijiang. It is about a 20 minute drive from Lijiang Old Town. Many buses to the various attractions leave from Lijiang, so you need to factor that driving time into your planning.

It was a very pleasant experience staying here! They have a few night activities including BBQ parties, songs as well as all 3 meals~ Very friendly counter staff as well :) The counter staff 小遲 was also very helpful in settling the laundry etc because I didn't have a local phone number. Would stay again!

It’s my first time to travel in Lijiang as a foreigner. I really loved my 9 days of stay in this hostel. The people were friendly especially Kyrie the volunteer! The surrounding and the amenities are so conducive for peaceful and fun staycation. The boss is also very friendly. I will surely recommend this to others. Kudos to all staff!

I had a pleasant stay in this hostel as a sol female traveler. The location is quite nice, it was walking distance to Shuhe Ancient Town. But if you want to get to Lijing Ancient Town, you need to either take a bus or book Didi. The service was heartwarming, I was welcomed by 云青(Yunqing). She was so friendly and extremely helpful with my requests. Highly recommend this hostel for solo travelers, this will be where you meet and be friend with people from all over China.

The hostel is amazing for foreigners travelling alone in China. Staff is super kind and helpful, many of them can speak English and have good tips for planning the hikings. Perfect cleanliness, service, facilities and location. Guests were also very friendly. I was planning to stay just for one night and ended up staying for 5 days. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay around Lijiang. Shuhe GuCheng is much more chill and relax than Lijiang GuCheng. The hostel is nice and clean. Initially booked for couple of days, but continuing to stay.

One of the best hostel I ever stayed in! 设施非常完善！There were activities everyday and the environment is so comfortable. The staff were very helpful, friendly and very approachable. 这是我住过最难忘的青旅了~

If you are an avid backpacker or hiker, and you are coming to lijiang to see some of its beautiful snow mountains, I believe this hostel is your best first stop they are really good with information. They know a lot about the mountains here and they’re also cheap. the original owner of this hostel I think he wrote a book about traveling the world and then he open this hostile here and lijiang and I are many other branches around but it’s a great first start. The price is cheap and the location is in a small village right outside of lijiang old town maybe just 10 minutes by car or you can take the bus. The facilities are clean and the beds are heated. They’re really nice they even have individual rooms if you’d like but I recommend just doing the bunkbeds and the rooftop is also really nice. They have a big view of the Yulong Snowmountain, and a gym up there as well. It gets lots of sunlight in the morning, give it a try
