We chose the hotel based on it's location and it having parking available. However, when we arrived the garage was full and we were told to use public parking, not too far away, but it would have been awkward if we had a lot of luggage.

We stayed in this hotel at short notice after our Eurostar back to London was cancelled. Although it was only a flying visit of one night, the check in staff were friendly and extremely helpful, both on arrival and the following morning. Room was a good size and the hotel was in a perfect location for the old town, whilst still being within walking distance of both train stations. Would definitely stay here again if in Lille.

Solid stay overall. Small room size but had every amenities needed (tea kettle etc). Water was lukewarm though. Would recommend this hotel for its location and parking. Great for first timers in Lille looking to explore the vieux Lille. We also stayed a night at the Gantois 5 star and would prefer to stay at the Mercure for a first time in Lille if limited time in Lille and exploring throughout the day.

Family-Maisonette does not really work for more than two people. No sink in the toilet, tiny space, one seat.

We chose this hotel as we wanted to be in the old centre of Lille for a short break, and the location was indeed excellent. However, for a four star hotel the room was very basic. We knew it would be small, and there was good air conditioning and a kettle which is always a plus. But there were no drawers or even shelves on which to put clothes, simply a small cupboard with half a dozen hangers on a rail. Also there was no desk or equivalent, simply a small rickety table on wheels. The fridge had the safe balanced on top of it within a tatty cabinet with the kettle on top. And finally there were no glasses or cups in the room simply 4 paper cups , surely a health and safety issue with boiling water from a kettle, and certainly not what one would expect in a four star hotel. All in all a very disappointing room for the price we paid.
