Belver Porto Dona Maria Resort

The Belver Porto Dona Maria is a Resort with a big Golfinh place. You book houses there which are en n good shape. Normally Kitchen togethee with big living room, bath with shower and pod and sleeping room. You have all things which are in a kitchen needed also a refrigerator and can cock by yourself. The friendky cleaning service (like Fatima) comes ever day and so its clean. The manager of the property will gelp you if you sre in trouble. A big swimming pool area is included to visit. You have a card for using it.Also the location is n near of the beach a small walk brings you to panorama views and amazing clips. I‘ve enjoyed the place and other people looking at my, of course its cheaper to book than a little hotel room of course Praia da loose is expensive.

This is a quiet resort situated right on the coast. There are no restaurants on site but there is a bar and breakfast can be arranged. Bruno, at the front desk, helped us when we had some maintenance concerns. Anastasia, who served breakfast, was delightful. Only negative was that the double bed was too small and soft.

Incredible view of the sunrise from our patio. Lovely staff, huge accommodations and a fresh loaf of bread hanging on our door every morning. Bruno at reception explained the walking trails to both nearby villages and the staff even washed our dishes while we were out enjoying the area. 10 stars if we could.

Light bulbs were attached to electric cords coming out of walls and ceiling. Fixtures were never installed

Did not give enough towels nor had the toilet tissues in all bathrioms. Also, there was no a/c or fans in the townhome unit we choose and the temps outside were 90 F degrees. Terrible experience!

The name of this property is misleading as it is not a golf resort that you envision. The dream of the golf resort did not come to fruition and now the resort is selling off the units so the priority is sales and not short term stays. The units are large and clean. However, there is no air conditioning and no mosquito nets on the windows and doors. They do provide you with a fan which made the stay bearable. They also were kind enough to provide fresh bread every day. We included breakfast with our stay because we did not have a car. We were able to order breakfast from a limited menu. The beach is at least a 20 minute walk. The pool is beautiful and a 10 minute walk from the garden units. If you have a car and either ready to go into town for your meals or cook them at home, the quiet isolated location is a plus.

We stayed for one night in a duplex sea view house as part of a holiday that was organised for us. The accommodation was beyond dated, and looked uncared for. There were mops and buckets left in front of many rooms and uncovered electric boxes. It just looked tired and like nobody cared, and didn't make you feel secure and safe. We had a sea view from the upper level of the house, but only stayed one night so didn't use the terrace. I mistook the blanket on the sofa in the lounge for pool towels, and saw that it was covered in stains when I opened it up. Yuk. The decor in the bedroom downstairs was very out of date and depressing, with dated furniture and faded prints on the walls. It reminded us of a convent. The twin beds were very hard and the pillows were very lumpy. It was not a room you wanted to spend any extra time than necessary in. The pool was large, but cold. There was zero a**osphere at the pool bar, nor anywhere in the resort. No evidence of a functioning golf course, or any golfers. In fact, apart from 2 other couples, we appeared to be the only ones staying there. Breakfast was better than expected (expectations were low) but the restaurant were it was served looked tired and half closed. The wifi was non-existent. It is a 30 minute walk into town from Porto Donna Maria and after getting a lift from the hotel staff, we were not able to get a taxi for love nor money, so ended up walking home in the dark. Would not recommend to anybody!

I hadn't realised there was a hotel here. We never saw it. We stayed in a 1 bedroom bungalow with sea view. The sea you could just see between the large pine trees. We entered the bungalow on arrival and there was a very distinctive smell of damp. No kettle or hairdryer and we did eventually get these items neither worked. It was dirty and we were told they would give it a deep clean. The room hasn't seen a deep clean for a long time. It was dark and dingy and antiquated. The oven didn't work and we never even used the hob. In the bathroom the towel rail was rusty and the plugs and taps were very dirty. The top of the fridge was dirty and just everything about the place was horrible. The bedroom curtains were all stained and when you went to bed because of the damp the bedding was damp. When we got home we opened our suitcases and our clothes smelt of damp. The TV was only one station and wifi didn't work as it was like a dungeon. Our neighbours had also complained about the damp. We have been to Portugal a lot and never ever experienced anything like this.
