"Reception is friendly, quick and uncomplicated. Willing to help/answer to any question/request. Location is fine as a base or stopover to visit Algarve (Benagil, Lagos, Sagres etc.) by car. Competitive price and all rooms look good with a view on the pool and the sea, good bathroom. Only downsides are that the room is missing some cutlery/dishes/coffee/tea, since the bar/restaurant is not to be recommended. Overall, when I am traveling this part of Portugal by car again I would definitely book here."

"We stayed here for two nights. In the first night we had an amazing stay. In the second night I don’t know if it was because of the wind but our door didn’t stop making course and moving even when we pushed a chair against it to try and keep it in place. In the morning of the second day we were woken up by a lot of doors slamming. Just kept slamming which was annoying. The hotel was clean, staff was very helpful! And the pool and location is beautiful."

"A relaxing holiday in beautiful, eventful Portugal at a pleasant hotel comprised of several villas in a quiet location with good amenities and excellent cuisine. I had half-board. The hotel is particularly suitable for guests who want to explore the country during the day. The beach is 2 km away. There's a bus stop around the corner, but a car is recommended. The grounds are very well-maintained; kudos to the gardener, the caretaker, and the entire service team. However, those who prefer a hotel holiday should look for a large hotel complex in a tourist area with an indoor pool (open in November) and entertainment."

"A pleasing to the eye, U-shaped, two storey, traditional tiled roof hotel with 90% of the rooms facing the pools (of which there are three). Not sure how it actually got the four-star rating as the complex is now dated and clearly lacks any recent TLC. However, the room accommodation is bright and airy and has a daily maid service. Despite no coffee/tea making facilities there was both a fridge and TV provided in the rooms. Whilst considerable attention was given to cleaning the rooms, including the bathroom, the same care was not forthcoming to the balconies or room terraces. These remained upswept for the duration of our stay (7 nights). The room safe comes with a daily charge of 2.50 euros. But the rooms have plenty of storage space. The single beds are extremely comfortable but we didn’t see any doubles! The AC works well but beware the rooms that have four external AC units fixed to the side wall! The hotel only paid lip service to its bar and guests rarely used this facility which was limited in what it could provide. The pool bar never opened at all…Pool towels are not provided (so bring your own) but bathroom towels are changed daily, if that’s your wish. What the breakfast lacked in variation it was made up for in quantity. Sadly, a range of varied fresh fruit was not forthcoming unlike their array of different breads and excellent fresh rolls. The reception staff bring credit to the hotel as they are both helpful and engaging. Others have provided very negative comments and the hotel is worthy of being giving credit where it is due. However, it is hard to provide a one-word grading against their published ‘stars.’ Having stayed at many a four-star hotel even ‘average’ would be a bit of a push. But as a holiday hotel it has positives, a few in fact. It would be worth their while to remove the ‘four-star’ rating completely and most would, I feel, consider this a value for money location when staying in this charming and delightful beach village of Luz. We certainly did."
