the hotel was only average , i was woken by housekeeping before 6 am outside my door ,my car was damaged in the car park buy some one who didn't own up to it ,they have a huge kitchen but dont cook breakfast ? i thought the guy on check in was very freindly and courteous.

We've always stayed at the Rose, Lynda and John were great hosts and the breakfast (included) was great, the restaurant nice and handy with well cooked meals - sadly this time around we've decided we won't be back - room was OK but furniture old and battered, the fridge almost falling through the base of the cupboard which was chipboard - restaurant no longer operating and nothing was working with the 'free' breakfast - the water in the urn lukewarm, the toasting machine playing up and very basic spreads for toast, a few cereals, and that was it. Only white bread offered and had to dig in the bread packet like everyone else was digging - not very hygienic in my opinion. We ended up giving breakfast a miss after the first day, very disappointed that the new owner hasn't done anything about improving this tired old lady.

NO TV, No restaurant, breakfast was pretty well nothing- toast cearel, no juve no anything else. Just a really bad experience. 4 families will no longer stay there again. We stay there at least once or twice a year and I understand new owners but at least tell you patron's of the changes so things can be planned.

When I stayed at the rose Motel I woke up at 4am to find the entire room was flooded after heavy rainfall and it was freezing. I waited for the office to open in the morning and went to the front desk to advise them, they simply asked was the roof leaking I explained no and they they're response was I'll check it out. No apologies no refund.
I later realised that not only was my entire handbag wet but so was all the contents in it purse, paperwork etc. I contacted them again by phone and asked if they had checked the room. They said no but that they were informed by the cleaners that, that room had a shower leak. I once again stated this wasn't the case the room flooded from rain. They again replied they would check it out, never offered a tefund or compensation for my damaged property
I would never ever stay at this property again. Not only that the rooms had not beencleaned properly beforehand. I wasn't the only guest there with an apparent shower leak either.
If you looking for sewhere in Mackay to stay I would avoid this Motel! Dirty, poor customer service amd my property was damaged

Ok. No information in the room on what was available, ie wifi, breakfast and where to get it. No window glass just wooden slats, no privacy curtains, so if you want fresh air you don't get privacy.

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The included breakfast was yummy, a nice variety of toast, cereal, pancakes and juice.
The rooms were dated but for the price definitely worth it. My bed didnt have wheels at the head of it so it was on a noticeable angle, i improvised and made some adjustments to make sure i was sleeping level. the bed was comfy enough and the room was otherwise clean and a reasonable size
