I travelled with my wife and seven year old daughter. Highlights were our traditional Japanese tatami mat room and the Japanese breakfast. If you are a westerner and have not tried these, try both. The room had a feeling of calm. Our stay in it was restful as we padded about carefully in our slippers or socks or bare feet. Though it's a traditional room, there were plenty of sockets for electrical devices. The Japanese breakfast was served at a traditional Japanese table, set low to the floor, with with seating that allowed our legs to dangle below floor level so we felt completely comfortable. There was a great variety of Japanese breakfast dishes to eat. The attitude of the staff is friendly and kind. We felt the peaceful a**osphere of the temples with their wooden floors and no-shoes rule, extending into this hotel. The price was quite reasonable too.
