"There are no elevators for the 2nd floor rooms. Please request 1st floor rooms if you're unable to carry the luggage up. The service was great and friendly. The price was more affordable given the distance to the town center. We had a rental car and it was a perfect stay as lake hill farm is a few minutes drive and the town center is 15 mins drive away. The view from the room was great and you can watch the nightly fireworks from there, albeit small."

"Nice hotel that is next to the lake, amazing views all day. The room is clean. The dinner and breakfast are good. In the night, there is fireworks and just need to walk out of the hotel and you can see the fireworks."

"My brief, one-night stay at Kohan Tei left me with mixed feelings. Stepping into the hotel, it was immediately clear that the property is quite dated; honestly, everything just looks worn out. This dated feel detracted from the experience, leaving the stunning lake view as the only true highlight—and even that is conditional on good weather, making it a bit hit-or-miss. The onsen was, unfortunately, a disappointment. The facility itself is small, and I found it inconvenient that they don't provide towels, requiring a trip back to the room. The biggest issue, however, was the outdoor bath: the water simply wasn't hot enough to truly relax in the cold winter air. On the positive side, I could see why the buffet dining is a big draw. Both breakfast and dinner seem popular, especially since they offer the fun option to do your own mini grill or hotpot. My only critique here is that the breakfast time felt relatively short—it was a definite rush to finish before the cutoff. Finally, the location is excellent for exploring. We enjoyed a lovely post-meal walk that stretches all the way to the ferry dock (about 3-4 km). It's a peaceful stroll with sculptures along the way, perfect for a photo or two. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the hotel is truly due for a major renovation."

"The location is the best which just one minute walking distance to the bus terminal to/from Toya Station and in front of the ferry pier. Please see my photo. Perfect location. The front desk receptionist lady was friendly. I was placed to a lake view Japanese style room. It doesn't include shower but toilet in the room and it looks like old but I love the room. The view from the room's window to Lake Toya was excellent. I love my room's window can be opened, I could see more clear to the lake view and to have fresh air from outside by opening the window. Even it was a raining day, cloudy and frosty. The view is still spotless good. The service was good. The room was clean, tidy and come with all necessity, but bath/shower excluded. However, based on the price, I was happy with it because I don't mind to use the bathroom in the onsen area on floor one. There was only two down side that I found: First, the male onsen area floor was sticky and slippery with moss (My left hand accidentally touched it and my hand was sticked with moss in outdoor onsen area) that includes indoor and outdoor area. I wish they would take more effort to the cleanliness of onsen area. Second, the suana was not available for customer to use. However, I had a fantastic sauna and onsen in 万世閣 (a hotel where is just a few minutes walk away from Toya Grand Hotel) by a paying walk in onsen fee(1300 yen) for non-resident. So, it didn't affect me much. Overall, my experience was good. I would give Toya Grand Hotel 8 out of 10. I love Toya Grand Hotel. I would recommend it."

"Hotel is old but charming. Tatami style room is small tidy but not very clean (found 1 bed bug crawling around the comforter😱. Onsen is fine but looks aged. But hotel welcome drink when check in is unlimited beer and numerous types of sake is excellent. Hotel staff also very helpful and friendly"

"It is a good ski in and out resort. The ski area is just at the resort itself, very convenient. there are many toilets and lockers around the resort. The room is dated though, they are still using turning knob for taps and mixer. I thought they should upgrade their rooms given the price we paid for the rooms. Toothbrushes and toothpastes and cotton pads. things, eg ski equipment rental and food, are expensive in the resort. There is nothing much to do other than skiing and snow play. Recommended for family stay."

"Let say this hotel is one of the best hotels I've experienced in Japan. Big room and big bathtub. Many choices of restaurants, especially, for breakfast. This hotel has the peaceful lobby and peaceful music where we can see the view of foggy and snow."
