"Great hotel. I was here for the Chicago marathon. The start is walking distance. On raceday there was no option for a early breakfast. Usualy hotels provide an option to use breakfast three hours befor the start, but Swissotel dit not. And the price of a room is twice as high to usual rates. I advice to book another hotel if you want to run the Chicago marathon."

"Watch for parking fees when booking this hotel. They charge approx $33.00 per night for parking. That was a surprise for us when we arrived at the hotel since the parking used to be free. We were staying there for 3 nights, so it would be an additional $100 expense. The manager was able to give us a promotional code, but you have to give your info to a 3rd party vendor to get that. On top of that, the parking lot was infested with huge rats. On Friday night, we had to park farther from the hotel entrance because the parking was pretty full, and the rats were running around the parking, near the dumpster. My family and other guests were scared to walk to the entrance because of that, and there was no other way to avoid walking by the bunch of rats . It was a really bad experience.
The room was clean and spacious."

"The hotel is in a convenient location and the price is relatively affordable. Upon check-in, they offered cookies, which was a nice and thoughtful touch. However, the room facilities were quite outdated, and the air conditioning was very noisy, making it difficult to sleep at night. Additionally, the bathroom floor lacks an extra drain, so when showering, water tends to spill out of the bathtub, and cleaning it up is a hassle."

SsknoseyThe free breakfast is not a full buffet but a choice of egg and then usually fried potato and beefburger patty or slices of sausage. the rest was tiny yoghurt and bread for toast, or make your own waffles. there is tea coffee and hot chocolate. There was cereal and porridge but sometimes it is made so thin that its not worth eating.
There is no tea in the room, just coffee. The machine had a disposable tray but they ran out so I used the same one for 9 days for tea and coffee (i got teabags from the breakfast room). Housekeeping never supplied what you asked for first time, or even second. If you want something and ask at 2pm, you will get it if you chase a couple of times afterwards by 9-10pm.
There was also alot of messing about with respect to check out time. I am a member of the loyalty programme which is meant to give you an automatic late checkout. The manager gave it to me but then when I went back to ask about extending it further for a fee, it was clear the other guy behind the counter was on a power trip and the day before started saying I shouldnt have got it and as it was the manager, he wouldnt withdraw it but he could and I should only get an hour and be charged $25/hr after that etc. He was just a mean spiteful man who saw an opportunity to cause worry and distress and he did it. I had luggage to store and it was a late flight so I had to know whether to pack to store it to check out at midday, or 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (they were messing me about with all times) but this is why I gave a 1 star for service. It is not at all professional but childish and spiteful. I had arranged the extended checkout days before and the day before they were messing me about when I had to pack and had a schedule of things to do? The worst service in any hotel I have ever been in. Hilton is no longer a 5 star experience it seems. 1 star for service.

MMisafir KullanıcıAccidentally booked this hotel during the Days of the Dead event that was going on at the hotel that weekend. So when I arrived I was surprised by many of the attendees, but some absolutely interest costumes and people were there. Even saw Alice Cooper and several stars of the current hit movie Terrifier hanging out in the lobbies and at the restaurant. This hotel is located across the street from the convention center and also the Rosemont Theater and close to O'Hare. That was my biggest problem, so many loud planes flying over (very closely) all through the night. My room was on the side next to the Rosemont Theater and their very bright sign was a little annoying, especially since the blinds don't close all the way to block off the light or help with sound reduction. As with most busy hotels, the unfortunate noises from other guests slamming doors or taking a shower is something I might expect at a lower name brand hotel - unfortunately these problems are present at this location too.
My room purchase came with free breakfast buffet at the restaurant, and it was absolutely fantastic. A wide variety of fresh fruits and standard breakfast foods, all laid out nicely and neat. I would hit this place up for breakfast anytime I am in that neighborhood.
Staff was friendly, took the hotel shuttle back to O'Hare. Has a decent size indoor pool and a couple of workout rooms, which I didn't use. Also had a Caddyshack themed bar and restaurant, food was also decent there.

MMisafir KullanıcıBe careful, there is a hidden charge ”A $25 daily urban experience fee will be charged to each room” at this hotel Fairmont Chicago - Millennium Park. The breakfast charge is very tricky if you have prepaid. 1st you have to argue that you have prepaid for the breakfast for each person in the room. 2nd you need to ask and confirm with the front desk how much the credit is for the breakfast you have paid (my case $38 for each person daily, covers taxes and tips). It is not buffet breakfast, you need to pay extra when you check out if you have ordered more than your credit for the breakfast. When I asked that if I missed one breakfast, can I use the extra credit for the next day. The answers were different from different staff members.
A very expensive hotel focusing on big conferences, there are no microwave oven, empty refrigerator (you can request) in the room and swimming pool. Do not lift up the drinks and snacks in the box on the table (there are sensors underneath) unless you don't mind to be charged. The existing refrigerator is full of drinks. I was afraid to touch it, even the concierge didn't know how to open the refrigerator lock. But the coffee and tea are free. There is a person (not housekeeper) comes to the room to check and refill all the drinks and snacks including the free ones.
We booked our room many weeks earlier, after we checked in I realized that the room prices dropped comparing our original prices, maybe not enough conference people attending.

Upon arrival, I was greeted and given my key cards. I drove towards the side door as it was closer to the
elevator. Not the hotels fault I guess, but people were smoking in areas I know weren’t designated for smoking.
The 2nd floor ***** of ***. I am grateful it wasn’t coming from my room, however: the assigned room did not smell clean at all. I did bring cleaning sprays from home just in case, the room wasn’t clean. I had to wipe the counters , desk and sink top off. They were dirty and sticky to the touch. I was going to ask for staff to come up and check the room but decided not to do that.
The next morning I went to the front desk to ask that
Housekeeping not clean until I left. Front desk staff was on the cellular device and I had to get his attention. He was nice and courteous but told me that rooms were cleaned once per week. Guess that’s why my assigned room smells the way.
While I am an avid dog lover, the dogs coming out the exit when I tried to enter were huge. This gentleman had two and could hardly control them.
Nevertheless, you get what you pay for so I can’t be too upset. I just don’t recall this chain being so lax about the amenities, staff professionalism-and cleanliness.

I was initially quite hesitant to check into this hotel after reading a number of detailed and lengthy negative reviews, especially those highlighting hidden fees and cleanliness issues. However, upon arrival with my partner, I was pleasantly surprised.
The hotel was clean and well-decorated, with a modern and cohesive style. Our check-in process was fast and efficient, and the receptionist was friendly and happy to answer all of our questions—especially about the fees mentioned on the hotel’s website.
One of the main issues people seem to bring up is the so-called “hidden” fees. In my experience, these fees are not actually hidden—they’re listed on the hotel’s official website. That said, they could definitely be communicated more clearly. It’s important to read the fine print when booking and during check-in. While the fees may not be obvious at first glance, the hotel is legally allowed to include them since they are technically disclosed.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with enough space to hang clothes. There were multiple hangers, and the locker-style closets matched the hotel’s sporty decor. The floor and bathroom were clean overall, though I did spot a spider in the corner of the shower—but nothing alarming.
The downstairs common area includes an open kitchen with a communal fridge and even a crockpot, which was a nice surprise. There were also several games available, like ping pong and air hockey, which makes this place family- and couple-friendly.
Guests are allowed to enjoy drinks provided in the kitchen. If you’re sensitive to noise, particularly trains, I recommend requesting a room farther down the hall on the first floor. Our room was in a quiet spot—I barely noticed the train, and when I did, it was more like soft white noise. Still, bringing earplugs might help if you’re a light sleeper.
Overall, I recommend this hotel. It’s in a nice area, the decor is visually appealing, and the stay was enjoyable. Just be aware of a $120 refundable deposit (if no damage is done to the room) and an additional $50 guest fee. Knowing that ahead of time helps avoid surprises.
I’m very grateful for the pleasant stay and would return again.
