The good things about this hotel - it’s directly across the street from a metro station, a park, and an art museum. The main shopping street is a quick five minute walk away. The building, lobby, and breakfast room all have a beautiful, vintage charm. The staff is polite and helpful. The breakfast isn’t elaborate, but the simple fare is enough to start the day with energy. The room for one person was comfortable and the bathroom was surprisingly big. The room they assigned me was tucked away a bit so at night it was really quiet.
The things that need improvement - the carpet in the room was awful. It was dirty and felt crunchy. I don’t think a deep clean would improve the carpet. The carpet in the rooms needs to be completely changed. The bathroom shower head was also a bit outdated and the sink had separated from the bathroom counter.
I think if these things were fixed, the hotel would be fantastic. As it stands, as a solo traveler this place was affordable and overall decent for the price. The location and friendly staff were the best features.
