I am on a 45 day trip in China. I stayed in Pullman in Dali and was pleasantly surprised by the experience there. I was upgraded to a lake view huge room with a stand alone bathtub. Everything was superb. When I was looking for a place for stay in Shanghai for a stopover rest stay, I saw Pullman was available and I had no hesitation to book it. Upon my arrival Felicia checked me in and warned me the room a smaller room. She also gave me some toiletries. I thought I am a solo traveler A small room would be fine. However I saw the room it was indeed small. I normally didn’t check the room size and relied on the pictures. I double checked my reservation Oh well the size was listed correctly. So I accepted it was my oversight. I tried to adjust the temperature and felt no effect. Hence I went to the front desk to enquire. I was told by the manager that temperature is pre set. Normally if that is case the system won’t allow u to change the temperature. The manager was nice enough to accompany me to the room to make sure everything was ok. I explained to Felicia via wechat that the room was not what expected given my experience at Dali. The bedroom is small and the bathroom is huge. So I ended using the bathroom to store my luggage and my shoes etc. Felicia was very kind to offer upgrade me to a bigger room. I declined her offer since I didn’t want to pack everything for a more night I asked her for a luggage rack for me to use this bathroom. She was very kind to offer free breakfast and a nice hot ginger tea for my disappointment. The breakfast was very delicious with plenty of choices. I went to use the gym and the pool. The attendant was not busy. The gym is obviously being used by paid outside members. I don’t mind it when a hotel is trying to make some money from idle facilities. It was safe to say that I was the only hotel guest I asked the attendant to use the steam room. He just nodded. When I went there the steam room was cold and there was no way for me to turn it on. So I went back to ask the attendant. He began to be annoyed by me. He told me he just turned it on and it would take 20 minutes to warm up. So I asked him that could I use the yoga room. I was told no yoga room. Then I asked could I have another pool towel as a yoga mat. He was further annoyed and gave it to me disapprovingly. I asked about the hot tub as stated on the tv screen in the hotel. No hot tub. So I just found a spot in the gym to do my stretching. The yoga room was turned to a boxing training room. Overall the gym and steam experience was not welcoming one. The concerige Allan recommended by Felicia is very pleasant and helpful. He downloaded an app on my phone to allow me to find a place for hairy crab. Overall the hotel is old and the attendant in gym should show more care to hotel guests. Felicia tried her very best to even my disappointment.

Great service. Polite staff. Clean room. Comfortable bed. Close to public transport.

Stayed here six nights, enjoyed my stay. It was very comfortable. Porter helped to carry luggage to taxi. Max gave me a room upgrade, Kitty helped to change room. Hotel gave a special discount for laundry, loved the laundry service. Special thanks to level 21 housekeeper Xiaowei who was very helpful. I would like to stay here again.

The hotel rates high on every single factor: room, cleaniness, breakfast, etc. It is a pity the subway is not very well connected. The hotel has a gym and a swimming pool (which I haven't tried). There is a lounge as well in which consume light dinners and beverages.
