The NH Siena hotel, formally known as NH Excelsior, is situated in the heart of Siena’s historical center with its Gothic architecture and pavement cafes, and is within walking distance of Siena central station. Nearby attractions such as the Piazza Del Campo and the green-and-white-striped Duomo are within a 10 minute walk, while the Basilica of San Domenico and Stadio Artemio Franchi are a bus or short car ride away. There is also a bus station outside for trips to Florence train station. Each of our 129 soundproof rooms feature satellite TV, free Wi-Fi, and minibars. They are all tastefully decorated and feature carpet or parquet flooring. For those requiring more space, upgraded rooms have connecting rooms, extra beds, and balconies or terraces, and rooms on the higher floors offer fantastic views. Other amenities include a gym and a daily breakfast buffet. Made-to-order hot dishes are available upon request. For those who want to dine in, Al Rastrello is our resident hotel restaurant. Italian and local cuisine are served daily during dinner hours. Great location and very nice hotel. Very nice breakfast. The staff was helpful but provided incorrect information regarding parking which will cost many Euros to the city of Siena in ZTL fines. Would stay here again but beware how you drive into the hotel!

It was a wonderful stay.
Pros:
* The rooms are very spacious and have beautiful views
* Breakfast was good, plenty of options but till 10am on weekdays. And they really start taking away all the food at 10am.
* Right in the center of the city, you can walk anywhere
* They keep your suitcases after checkout. I asked them if I can come back for them later that day, and they were nice and kept them.
Cons
*No coffee machine in room. They do have a fridge though.
*No iron in room but they do have an ironing room
*No parking, but down the street there is free parking, a 8 min walk. I easily found a parking at 10.30pm

Service was horrible. Guy at the front was very rude and slow. But the gym is very nice and the man who works at the bar is very kind. Rooms are okay.

while it is in a good location. it is hard to find parking.
staff is not as helpful.
do not stay if you have another choice. I honestly feel like it was a waste.

a/c not working in our room
my request for adjacent room was not honored
glass shower door hinge broken, almost impossible to open and the glass rubbing against the shower floor, in danger of breaking. they said they will look at it, but did not bother to check it out.
