I have been to 3 Green pubs in the last month and it would seem to be the case in each one, needs an update tired and shabby. ~The staff in all three were pleasant and hardworking, a credit to the company. The food however is rubbish you need to change the chef in all three. breakfast in one cant poach eggs, hard as bullets. Burger and fries in second burger tasteless and poor quality served almost cold. The last The Marine in Hornsea , a thirty five minute wait, fish chips and mushy peas. the peas were like thick pea soup and stone cold, the fish slightly over cooked warm with the few chips hidden underneath , nothing on the plate was hot and to say we waited and paid over £13 per portion. Needless to say that is the last visit we will be making to a Green King eatery or Hotel.

Hi, I stayed at your establishment with my now fiancé, on 20/04/2024 til 21/04/2024 and what an absolute pleasure it was. The staff were fantastic! Thomas at the front desk was such a lovely and polite chap. Our room was great and the food was outstanding! The grounds and scenery are beautifully breathtaking. The Coniston was the perfect place to propose to my partner and she said YES! So that made our stay even more perfect! we can’t wait to come back later in the year! We didn’t catch the two girls names at the front desk on the morning we checked out, but they were fabulous and both will remember my partner showing off her engagement ring to them. Thomas and these two girls, are three of the most professional and polite people we’ve ever come across in hospitality and their service and excellent manner, are a credit to your establishment. We recently stayed at The Plough for 4 nights and I highly recommend it! The venue is fantastic, amazing wood burning fire, beautiful bar, restaurant and conservatory area with lovely surrounding countryside. The staff were so friendly and helpful the whole time and very welcoming! The food was delicious and great portions and choice! The room was brilliant, beautifully decorated and great amenities - everything we needed! Honestly very much recommend a stay here! Thank you to everyone at The Plough for such a wonderful stay!

We've just spent 2 nights at The Alma Inn. The hotel is a sensitively, refurbished 18th century coach house.The rooms are very well appointed and include waters, quality biscuits, tea and coffee. The bed and pillows were very comfy and the en-suite was large. The Inn is in an ideal location for many places of interest. The views of rolling countryside are faboulous. We were in the restaurant both nights and there was an excellent choice and all was very well cooked and presented with speedy service. I had one of the specials which was Seafood Choo Chee and it had an incredible depth of flavour. The desserts were excellent too. My dark chocolate fondant was like something off Masterchef - crispy on the outside and liquid in the middle. I'm gluten intolerant and my allergy was very well catered for. Breakfast was varied and delicious. The staff were terrific. Emma was friendly and knowledgeable about the foods on the menu etc and Yvonne, at breakfast, was also very friendly and suggested some good walks. We would not hesitate to go again. I've been to the Craiglands a few times before, but not overnight. This was a 2 night stay BB+D for £260 in total. As the dinners were 3 courses and included a Prosecco each, both nights, I thought this was very good value, particularly as the dinners were good quality. The hotel is well located at the edge of the moor above the town. Our room was large with the usual facilities, plus a creaky floor. The bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was fine, but would have been better had there been cold meats and fish options. Overall we had a lovely time, benefitting from glorious weather
