Friendly environment, owner took good care of all guests, remembered each one well. Location is within walking distance of eating places. Whole hostel is maintained well by staff, bed is extremely clean. Good place to chill as well after a long walk

The BEST hostel I’ve been in my 7 countries Asian trip. The location, the services, the cleaniliness, the attention, all were great. The hotel is on a renovated old building with exquisite details and curated decoration elements. Everything is clean. The rooms are comfortable and the beds are big enough to have your small backpack in it. There’s a curtain for privacy and it wasn’t crowded. The other guest were very mindful of others. This hotel is relatively new, they opened in Nov 2025 so, it’s still getting known in the travel world. You can use the kitchen that has all the implements to cook, store items in the fridge and prepare a breakfast with ingredients that the hotel provides… free, great breakfast! If you need a towel they give you one at no charge… for now. The location is great. You can walk to the old town of the city and Concubine ln. It’s a really nice walk. That part of the city saw a past splendor and the buildings show it. There are several restaurants around, even some fast food. Two things I would review if I was the owner… I waited for an hr before getting my room while other people got settled immediately. My dorm only had 2 ppl in it, the room was ready when I got there. If you have a bed available, just give away even when there’s no the time. It means a lot to the guest that in general has been traveling long hrs, especially if it’s a small place with not many people. The other thing is to teach us (ignorant westerners), how to use the electric shower heater. I couldn’t make it work because I couldn’t find the on/off button. A small sign could have solved my and others’ frustrations. The owners are doing an excellent job at the hotel. I’m planning to come back so I’ll be a guest again at the Brownstone.

We have been staying in this hotel whenever we are in Ipoh. Many eateries around and morning market opposite the hotel. Convenient stores and pharmacies just round the corner. Clean and simple, value for money and friendly staff.

Location is surrounding with lot of restaurants.only took 5-7 min to Aquatic centre. There is washer in the unit but no hanger or place to hang the clothes. Overall is ok

Fantastic stay! Clean, comfortable pillows & mattress (without a bedframe - not a problem for us but just so you know). Nice sized room with hanging area & shelf. Good AC. Sufficient amount of toilets/showers, & shower has hot water. The location is great, close to the train station & by many restaurants. Note: reception is inside the compound, not on the street. Check in was simple and service friendly (though one gent on the desk couldn't help us with any info on buses to the Cameron Highlands). Pool area was cleaned daily. Would stay again.

at rm50 per nite during promotion , you pay what u get rooms are small and tight but comfy and clean toilet and showers are working well but sink is mouldy aircond , bed and tv are working fine and comfy wont mind to recommend to others for shop trips

Value for money. Superb location which is close to many famous Pinji eateries within walking distance. Very friendly front desk. Rental Cheap. Has underground parking, but my gf felt very uncomfortable when the driver of look at her one kind. She won't dare to stay here if she's alone. Just like most of the budget hotels, sound proof is bad. But for me personally, I have nothing to complain for the price I've paid.

Everytime i went to simpang pulai, this hotel will be my first priority to stay. Its good. Its cozy. Its value for money

Very basic facilities Better glasses should be put in the room Hot water was lukewarm Should do something about the birds
