"A very convenient location located within the city centre of York. There are numerous bus stops just located within 3 mins of walking making it very easy to travel to rail station or designer outlet. Moreover, there are numerous groceries such as saintsbury, Tesco and M&S foods. 10mins walk to York minister. It comes with complementary breakfast as well and it has many varieties and delicious. From the room you can overlook the Clifford castle as well."

"Beautiful location, hotel and breakfast was good. We arrived at hotel and couldn’t check in until after lunch, left our case at reception and went out. We returned to the hotel at 2100hrs, got the key to the room which was freezing. -1 outside and all heating was switched off, the room was so cold. You would like to think that someone would have known we had not checked in yet and put some heating on. Huge let down for a 4* star hotel. Would have took someone 2 mins and would changed our whole experience. Hope the hotel reads this and learns for the next paying visitor."

"We recently stayed at Ibis Styles York Centre with my daughter, and it was honestly better than expected. The room was comfortable, clean, and surprisingly well-equipped — we especially appreciated having air conditioning, which made a big difference to our stay. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming throughout, always happy to help and making us feel at ease. Breakfast was another highlight: a great buffet selection with plenty of choice for both adults and children. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and great value for money. We would definitely consider staying here again when visiting York."

"Beautiful old pub located on the main road into York from the south. Car parking at the rear. Takes about twenty minutes to walk to the Minster and the route takes you past Clifford's Tower & The Shambles. The room was very clean & tidy, decorated simply & tastefully. Shower was hot and efficient. We slept well although we prefer a firmer bed. The pub is on a main road but it was quiet during the night & we weren't disturbed by visitors to the bar (we stayed on a Thursday). Good beer, I had a pint of Wainwright's Gold. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay again, much better to support a local business like this than the big brands. My wife is Chinese and wanted a Chinese breakfast, we found a place called Noodle Lane about ten minutes walk from the hotel, it was expensive but authentic."

"Had a lovely stay at the Hampton by Hilton. Everything was fine and the Hotel is in an ideal quiet location just off the main road, near the station and main centre of York. Only disappointment was the lack of evening snacks and deserts. We had to end up having a packet of Jaffa cakes!! Very poor, also no evening Restaurant ."

"No toothpaste, toothbrush, hair dryer. Wifi is only free for 30 min/day and you have to pay or wait until the exact time next day to have wifi available again (imagine you logged in for wifi at 11pm, have it for only 30 minutes, then can only have the next wifi service 11pm the next day but guess what, you check out at 11am already so there's no use! I've never seen a hotel offer just 30min of free wifi, even hostels). 5G mobile data cannot work in the room, so it's very annoying with such terrible wifi service. Tea spoons are dirty, got black old tea/coffee mark on it (which can be clean if you just wash them 1 minute with water at the sink, but it seems the staff didn't even bother to clean them even just for 1 minute rinsing under water). Overall my first time with this hotel brand and I'm so disappointed!"

"The Galtres... A perfect place to stay in York. Location is great, central, surrounded by pubs, shops, bars, restaurant, a few steps from York Minster, couple of minutes walk to the Shambles, 13 minute walk from the train station. Our room was spotless, checking in was easy, arrived 3 hours early, but room was ready so accessed that straight away. Little bit quirky, I guess no two rooms the same, old fireplace, massive mirrors and a Wimbledon wicker basket at decor. Breakfast was amazing, gorgeous food, great selection and waiting staff always happy to help. Didn't eat there at other times, but the restaurant always looked busy inside and out. Two minor faults, could have squoze a small dressing table/desk into the room, and be prepared for a small amount of noise in the morning with delivery vehicles around, not a big problem though. I would definitely visit again, and recommend anyone visiting York to look at this place as somewhere really nice to stay."

Good location close to city walls , 15min walking distance from train station. Good English breakfast included in the room price. Room decent not fancy, perhaps a small renovation could be useful. Our room was at 3rd floor without lift so maybe is difficult for those with lot of baggages. The shower was fine with a lot of pressure despite being on the upper floor. It wasn’t possible to leave luggages after check out due to serious personal problem of the owner but in general he was very friendly willing to assist as was the one of the two ladies (dark hair) responsible for breakfast, always polite.

We got a great rate for our room of just under £50. This included breakfast (cooked and continental) for both of us. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The only thing that let this trip down was our bathroom. The grout on the floor tiles by the toilet was grim. Also we found a child’s sock under the bed which doesn’t say much for the cleaning routine. Would stay there again as appreciate this could be easily rectified with a deep clean.

It was a very good experience staying in the Vikings. I would definitely go stay again next time I visit to York. It took us 15 minutes walk to the city centre and there is also some cafe and shops nearby.

Very nice clean apartment , with kitchen, fridge pots,pans, cutlery etc , tea and coffee available too , tv to watch if your in during the evening , fresh smell , wi fi available , would definitely stay again , and would recommend highly , not too far from town about 10 min or so bus ride , parking outside apartment on main rd no restrictions , parking in town centre very expensive , but there is a park and ride site about 3-4 miles away , or catch a local bus to town bus stop less than a minute from apartment Excellent helpful host , when we couldn’t access the WiFi , great location and only about 5 min walk to the Cold War bunker just a few streets away , local village shops about 10 min walk All in all very very happy

Good location: near the train station and the York Castle & walking distance from the city centre. Hygiene conditions were fine but the bathroom was way too small. The air for the upper bunk bed was bad, it was hot and poorly ventilated, so as a result I did not sleep well. But overall the hostel was decent, affordable and suitable for a short stay.

Great location if you want a relaxing time away from the everyday hustle and bustle of life. Me and the wife had a great time and the service was great especially in the restaurant where we had a lovely meal. Would highly recommend if you want a peaceful weekend or evening away. 😊

Otel güzel bir konumdaydı. Verimli bir hizmete sahipti. Odalar halıların biraz yenilenmesinden faydalanabilir ve kirişler tozluydu. Kaldığımız odada kullanımı rahat olan ortak bir banyo vardı ancak halı kaplı ve pek hijyenik olmayan birkaç merdivenden aşağı inmek gerekiyordu. Yangın alarmı sabah 6'da çaldı ve sahibinin müdahale edip kontrol etmesi 7 dakika sürdü. Bundan sonra dinlenmek için odalarımıza dönebildik. Otel, York'un merkezine 35 dakika yürüme mesafesinde, güzel bir günde harika.

We had a lovely stay at Diamonds Inn. We booked the Standard Suite, Ensuite 3-bed room which is located at the top floor of the building. A very quaint compact en-suite family room great for a group of friends or family. All basic amenities are there including towels, shampoo and shower gels. There’s also an electric water kettle, coffee/tea, hair dryer and a small fridge! Beds are soft and comfy. Walls are thin and may hear voices of other guests in the halls during the day but was not a major issue during our stay, mostly quiet after 10pm. Location is very convenient as its only a stones throw away from one of the famous wall entrances, a pub and restaurant across and York Minster. Host was lovely and friendly as well, called to ask if we can get an early check-in and was happy to accommodate us.

You have to call to ask for it. If you are a foreigner and do not have a local number, the call fee is very expensive. The staff's accent is not British or American, which is very difficult to understand. I could not understand the numbers until a neighbor came to help me listen. Overall, it is not okay.
