Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The best affordable hotel to stay at when visiting Disney. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was Chinese, but fresh and tasty. Our daughter loved the rabbits in the garden. They offer a shuttle service to and from Disney and you can hire a big stroller from the hotel. I would definitely recommend to stay here!

Our group of 15 stayed at Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden for 3D2N, and we had a very pleasant experience overall. We arrived early in the morning, and the hotel kindly provided temporary rooms for us to rest until the official check-in time, which we truly appreciated after a long journey. The hotel facilities are very good. Although it is a large property, it is extremely well managed. What impressed us most was the staff — everyone was friendly, supportive, and always willing to help. Even though some staff members do not speak English fluently, they use translation devices, so communication was never an issue. They also assisted us in arranging airport pick-up cars with good vehicles, polite drivers, and reasonable prices. Breakfast was served buffet-style with a good variety of food and satisfactory quality. The hotel’s location is very convenient, within walking distance of Yu Garden, The Bund, Nanjing Road, and other attractions, making it easy to explore the city. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and would highly recommend Mercure Shanghai Yu Garden to both group travelers and individual guests.

Taxis or didis may find it difficult to park or pick hotel guests here. Love the service of sending food and packages via robot to my hotel room. Generally very responsive customer service. Cleanliness need to improve as i saw cigarette butts under the sofa just before checking out. But overall cleanliness is okay. Super central location, can walk 5-10 mins to nanjing road. Also super central to the bund, around 15 minutes. Breakfast is not bad too. We got a room facing The Bund, which is fantastic.

Our stay was amazing thanks to the great staff and their helpfulness. They provided a crib for my infant and the facilities were all very clean. Family friendly.

Location? Perfect. But let's talk about the rest... Walking distance to The Bund and People's Square, convenience stores downstairs, a few casual eateries nearby—honestly, you can't beat that. Would I recommend this hotel? Only if location is your absolute priority and you're skipping breakfast. Booked this hotel on the morning of arrival. With limited options for 4 people in one room, this one looked good ”1 Queen bed and 1 Double bed”, breakfast included. Checked in at 6pm, and the front desk said my room type wasn't ready yet, but they could offer me a larger room immediately. Great, I thought. Went upstairs, only to find a Queen bed + a sofa bed. Went back down to request a swap, they handled it quickly. No complaints about that. But the communication could have been much clearer. Telling me the room is bigger is fine, but maybe mention that the ”second bed” is actually a sofa bed? Comfort-wise, a sofa bed is just not the same as a proper double, and it doesn’t fit for two. The Room: Matched the photos but watch out - Cleanliness was fine, basic amenities provided. - The bed was actually comfortable. Slept well. - TV remote was broken – didn't really affect us since we weren't there to watch TV, but worth noting. - Flooring could be a hazard – some uneven, slightly sharp areas that weren't comfortable to walk on barefoot. Housekeeping: The warmest part of our stay A special shout-out to the housekeeping lady on the 5th floor. We only stayed 2 nights and didn't need full cleaning—just wanted fresh towels in the morning. She was genuinely attentive, proactively checking if we had enough bottled water or toilet paper without us having to ask. Her warm, thoughtful attitude stood out in the best way. Breakfast: Good food, but chaos and attitude The breakfast spread itself was decent—quite a variety. But the management of the breakfast area? A mess. You get checked in at the door and then left to find your own table. - Day 1: Walked around for 5 minutes. No table. A cleaning lady helped us find one outside the dining area. - Day 2: Same thing. When I pointed it out to the breakfast receptionist at the entrance. To be fair, she did go inside to look for a table for us. Even she couldn't find one. She walked around, came back empty-handed, and still had that unhappy look on her face. I get that she tried to help, but the attitude? Yeah, that part stayed. Also, some guests' behavior was unexpected, half-eaten bread left at the coffee station, guests packing food into their own containers. Not the hotel's fault, but it added to the chaos. Lobby: Actually quite nice Gotta give credit where it's due—the lobby is lovely. There's a piano, comfortable seating areas, and a mobile library with books. It's a genuinely relaxing space. The Final Straw: Last day. Check-out time. Staff handed us a small gift, hand cream souvenir. Nice, right? Except they insisted we leave a positive review on Trip.com right there, in front of them. Came the comment: ”But we already gave you the gift.” Said in a tone that made it feel less like a gesture and more like a transaction. I declined and said I'd do it later. Her face dropped immediately, then turned to other staffs, started speaking in Mandarin, and the way the others looked at us was uncomfortable. Like we were the difficult ones. Look, I get it. Reviews matter. Hotels need them. But asking for reviews should be done with zero pressure. This felt forced, awkward, and left a sour taste right at the end. And honestly? It made me even more determined to write this review honestly. Because this is what actually happened.

The room was nice and spacious, and everything felt clean and new, clearly recently renovated. Overall comfort was good. However, since the renovation was quite recent, there was still a noticeable renovation smell in the room. Another downside was that the room faced the mall side—when opening the window, it opened toward the inside of the mall, which felt a bit strange and not ideal for ventilation. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they were responsive to any questions we had. Overall, a good stay with a few minor drawbacks related to the recent renovation.

Otel, Şanghay tren istasyonuna yaklaşık 400 metre uzaklıkta, yürüyerek çok uzak değil, ancak bagajınızla yürürseniz zorlu bir yol olabilir. Haziran ayı civarında ziyaret ettim. Otelin ön cephesinde tadilat çalışmaları vardı, bu yüzden Waiting Hotel'e ulaşmak için başka bir otelin etrafından dolaşmanızı gerekiyor. Bir diğer sorun da internetin çalışmıyor olmasıydı. A small, cozy hotel in the Jing'an District, on picturesque Julu Road. The hotel itself consists of two mansions built in the late 1920s by the Asian Petroleum Company, as you can read at the information board on the corner of Chang Shu Lu and Julu Roads. The hotel complex is located in a gated community, where the quiet of the park and the chirping of birds are so unusual in the heart of the vast city. The hotel reception is located in the mansion closest to the entrance, where we were warmly greeted and quickly checked in despite our limited English and complete lack of Chinese. We rented two rooms as there were three of us traveling, and my wife and I lived on the second floor in a fairly spacious room with two windows. There are some minor inconveniences, such as the steep steps on the narrow staircase, which might be a bit difficult for older people, but we had no discomfort, and the hotel staff helped us carry our suitcases. The room was equipped with a TV, refrigerator, desk, safe, and a very, very large bathroom with a window. There was both cold and very hot water, which was perfect, and of course, there was a hairdryer. Our bathroom didn't have a bathtub, but that wasn't a problem for us; the hotel offers a wide range of rooms to suit every taste. The rooms were cleaned and the linens and towels were changed regularly, and we didn't notice it at all. It was very quiet at night; we didn't hear anything, although I've read reviews that the hotel has good soundproofing, but we couldn't say that. Generally, staying at this hotel, you have a very strong sense of privacy, as if the entire mansion were yours, but in the morning, at breakfast, seeing your neighbors, you realize that's not the case. It's also a special pleasure to open the windows early in the morning and let in the sun, fresh air, and birdsong. The hotel is remarkable for its undeniable historical value. You immerse yourself in the unhurried silence of a measured existence amidst a small park with its living inhabitants, such as birds and squirrels, where nothing disturbs your peace, either in your room or beyond. You undoubtedly enjoy the history as you admire the magnificent staircases, old mirrors, and Art Nouveau hallways, as well as the manicured lawns and trees in the courtyard, where you can sip your morning coffee and enjoy the peace and sunshine. The hotel offers a small breakfast and excellent coffee. There are very decent restaurants in the neighboring buildings, and several coffee shops are within a three-minute walk, making it very convenient. The metro is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and when I called a taxi through the DIdi app, the drivers always arrived. And all this is surrounded by quiet, cozy historic streets shaded by old plane trees, a pleasant place to stroll at any time. There are many restaurants, including Mediterranean cuisine, bakeries, bars, and wine bars within walking distance. Nanjing Road is about a 10-minute taxi ride away, and the main attractions are easily reached on foot, so it's best to enjoy the surrounding beauty. I really regret not having visited Sun Yat-sen's residence, which is also within walking distance. All in all, if you love the spirit of good old Shanghai and appreciate peace and quiet amidst the vast modern metropolis, you should definitely check out this stunning hotel, which I'll definitely be eager to visit again!

Excellent front desk stuff. Location is just above the subway station line 2 which is direct from both airport ( station called Century park).  I had the park view room and truly excellent views  Good breakfast, close to pu dong exhibition centre Well recommend
