"We had a pleasant stay at Amanek Beppu. The lobby is bright and welcoming, giving a great first impression. The hotel provides free bottles of water, which was a nice touch and very convenient during my stay. Our room was comfortable and well-kept, making it easy to relax after a long day. Parking is available nearby for a reasonable fee, so it was convenient even for those traveling by car. Overall, Amanek Beppu offers comfort, convenience, and good value. We would happily stay here again."

"First of all, I would like to extend special thanks to the hotel for their cooperation, and especially to Mr. Ninomiya from the hotel for his tremendous assistance, which made my partner and I experience a truly romantic and unforgettable time. The hotel staff spoke good English and were very friendly. The environment was tranquil and clean, the hot springs were excellent, and the view from the room I booked was absolutely superb. If I have the chance to visit Beppu for a vacation again in the future, I will definitely return and will also recommend it to my friends."

"Location is near Beppu station. Car parking was next to it, controlled by lift. Meaning park and the car was lifted in a building. Charged per daily and could retrieve car anytime. 7 private Onsen rooms, need to queue to use during evening. One or 2 was empty during afternoon. Complimentary ramen in soya sauce broth from 10-11pm, if missed it, take the house brand instant noodle cup from reception. Remember to take the complimentary Yakult from 6-10am. Coffee and matcha machine in lobby. Remove shoes at lobby and roll luggages over a wet mat. Bare foot or socks provided throughout hotel, even at restaurant. Didn’t try the breakfast and dinner. Typical Japanese hard mattress and pillows. Good for families or friends up to 4 per room."

"Absolutely amazing. With the perfect view and perfect room and perfectly polite and friendly staff! Was my favourite hotel in my whole trip and absolutely made my day. On the expensive side but it’s definitely worth the experience to try it for one night at least. Huge room with a beautiful tatami flooring and traditional dining table, private bath with a beautiful sea view. Also has a smart tv for you to just chill and enjoy in the room. You can also still use the public onsen and breakfast provided was delicious! Overall 10/10 will recommend it was amazing !"

"This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at, probably because it’s very new. I was extremely satisfied with all the facilities in my room. The space was great, and having a kitchen and a washing machine was a huge plus. There’s also a rooftop onsen available for guests, which I really enjoyed. I absolutely loved the free welcome drinks at the entrance I honestly wish I could take the machine home! Overall, the stay was very comfortable. If I were to give one suggestion, it would be to improve the privacy of the onsen slightly, as it’s still possible to see inside from the entrance, which may cause some privacy concerns."

The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again. We recently stayed at this hotel, and the experience was mixed — there are some nice touches, but also noticeable shortcomings. **Room:** The room was spacious but clearly outdated; furniture and interior look worn. The ventilation works, yet it still feels quite stuffy inside. It would be great if the hotel improved air-conditioning or installed mosquito screens: the sea view is beautiful, but opening the window isn’t an option because of too many insects. **Facilities & Service:** The only real extras are massage service and a shared onsen. There’s no gym, pool, or other activities — the hotel is designed for quiet relaxation. A shuttle service is available, which is convenient, but if you miss it, getting to the hotel on your own can be quite difficult. During this stay the hotel was quite busy, and it often took a long time to catch the elevator to our floor. **Dining:** Breakfast and dinner can be pre-booked; the food was tasty and varied. The bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with a decent drink selection, and in the evening the lobby lounge opens with alcoholic drinks and light snacks — a nice way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. **Location:** The property faces Beppu Bay, yet the seaside feeling is limited — there are few walking areas nearby, and due to insects it’s hard to enjoy the open air. **Overall:** A good option for a calm, onsen-style getaway with decent food and polite staff, but when the hotel is crowded, the lack of facilities and outdated rooms become more noticeable. With some modernization and better infrastructure, this could be an excellent resort."

"Beautiful sea view from the room, and the balcony is super spacious! However, the room layout is quite tight, can’t even fully open a large luggage. Service is excellent, and the amenities are impressive, even providing skincare face masks. Really enjoyed the in room onsen. Perfect for honeymoon couples 👍"
