Holiday Inn New Orleans West Bank Tower

We stayed here for 5 nights over Mardi Gras. If I returned to New Orleans another time of the year I definitely would stay there again. As it was festival season the transport links weren't quite as good as they should've been and getting back from the city in the night was slightly challenging. Our room was nice and fairly spacious and decent toiletries supplied; shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and soap. Coffee was plentiful, they always provided more when asked at reception. I wouldn't bother to pre-book breakfast in advance. In resort it's about $13 per person per day. The selection is limited, especially for healthy options. The bar/restaurant in the hotel and dining options nearby all seem to shut at 9pm which is pretty early!

When I entered the room, the undeniable smell of urine perfumed the air. I looked for the source and, while getting in bed, I found it. It was the MATTRESS!!!!! I ask to place us in another room, which was accompanied with an apology. In the other room, it smelled less urine-like. YET, I lifted the blanket and noticed 2 DIRTY, I MEAN DIRTY, SOCKS that had been there since who-knows-when!!!!! This meant that the sheets were not cleaned, either!!!! We had to leave!!! This was an emergency trip and we will NEVER go here again!!!

I wasted a points redemption on this hotel. We booked it because it was near where our friend lived. Next time we will stay farther out. We were there for the 1st Mardi Gras weekend. During check-in, the front desk staff was distracted talking to each other about non-work-related stuff instead of engaging with the guests. (We observed this to be the norm every time we came and went) The drink coolers in the retail area only had a few diet drinks and water. When we asked when it would be refilled, the clerk told us, ”it's Mardi Gras season. We might get some more after that”. Yes, it's arguably the busiest tourist season for New Orleans, call your distributor or tell the manager to go to the grocery store. We booked a room with a king and a sleeper sofa. The sleeper didn't have any sheets, nor were there any that could be used to make the bed ourselves. The top sheet and blanket weren't even tucked in on the king bed. Based on other TA reviews, we brought our own towels. The coffee supplies had not been replenished. Breakfast was nothing special and not replenished until guests asked
