"Beautiful place, great hosts - very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The wildlife was all around us and we saw a sloth and her baby in the trees, and saw howler monkeys up close. The accommodation was vey clean, very peaceful location. Perfect location for tubbing, and also excellent local chocolate farm, which the hosts helped up sort out the logistics. Can’t recommend it enough as a different more rural part of Costa Rica"

"We did not stay at El Tucan, but we wish we had! We were staying at a nearby hotel that did not have a pool and rang the owners at El Tucan out of the blue to see if they’d let us and our daughter use their swimming pool for a couple of hours. Since all their guests were out at that moment, we agreed on a small fee and walked in. What a sight! The bungalows look super cozy, the small pool is just right and the various gardens around the hotel grounds are simply beautiful and maintained with obvious care. There’s even a small path leading to the nearby river. If we ever find ourselves in that area, we’re definitely staying at El Tucan! Enjoy!"

"We rented 5 rooms as a big family traveling Costa Rica. We were met by Roger who kindly showed us his beautiful property. The grounds were beautiful, wonderful pool and beautiful facilities. The rooms were spacious and decorated with beautiful native wood crafted beds. The beds were comfortable and everything was extremely clean. Roger and his beautiful wife prepared and served an amazing breakfast including fresh fruit, fresh juices, eggs prepared as you like, rice, toast and pastries, among many other items as well as fresh brewed delicious coffee. We will return!!!"
