"Room smelt of dogs. Found an air freshener in socket that had run out. Went to reception to complain about the awful smell of dogs; mentioned window was open and the air freshener. We don’t supply air fresheners was the reply, didn’t address the smell. We were there for 3 nights had to sleep with window open because of smell. Therefore we could her the traffic so didn’t sleep well. Reception couldn’t care less about situation. Wouldn’t stay again and wouldn’t recommend."

"We ate in Premier Inn restaurants for a buffet breakfast a few times earlier on in our trip at other locations and these weren't too bad but we preferred to go out for food as you can find some really nice local venues. The food was a reasonable quality but the restaurants were a bit grubby. Where the restaurant was in the Premier Inn itself, as opposed to when it was a Beefeater or Table Table, it was better. The hotel's restaurant brand is called 'Thyme' and we ate at the Thyme in the Wadebridge Premier Inn. It had the same food options but a much nicer layout (some carpeted areas, some tiled, with a modern, stylish feel) and decor than the aforementioned Whitbread brands we had tried. Thyme was also a lot cleaner. Whitbread also owns Premier Inn so I recommend they develop this approach at all their hotels."

"Never again. The room was in an unacceptable condition — dirty, poorly maintained, and with a strong unpleasant odor. It genuinely felt as though a large, unclean dog had recently been in the room. While I understand that Travelodge is a pet-friendly hotel, I would fully expect designated pet rooms rather than all rooms being used interchangeably. Guests who choose not to stay in pet-occupied rooms should have that option. I politely asked the receptionist whether a dog had previously been in our room, and her response was dismissive and unhelpful. She stated, “This is a pet-friendly hotel, I cannot guarantee whether or not a dog has been in that room,” and offered no alternative solution. Her manner was rude, and there was no attempt to address or resolve the concern. To be clear, we are not opposed to dogs. However, we would not knowingly choose to sleep in a room that clearly shows signs of recent pet occupancy. In addition to the odor, there were cobwebs, visible mould, and dirt accumulated in multiple corners of the room — clear indicators that cleaning standards were not being met. This experience fell well below reasonable expectations, and I would expect this matter to be taken seriously. It was Room 207"
