We had the most lovely stay at Bella Vista! The room was incredible- clean, spacious, and the best view of town and the Matterhorn. Rachel, at reception, made our stay even better. She answered all our questions and was spot on with dining recommendations and places to ski. The breakfast was very good with lots of variety and a fabulous omelet option along with fresh squeezed orange juice. I used the spa every evening and it was very updated and relaxing- lots of attention to detail. We loved the ski storage and boom room where they were dried/heated. There is not a better place to stay in Zermatt!

We had the absolute best time in Zermatt and this was primarily because of the wonderful a**osphere at Bella Vista. Everyone is so kind and helpful-you can tell that a lot of love is put into this place. We loved it so much that we will come back this summer!

Lodging prices in Zermatt are high and this place is unfortunately no exception, but I believe it's rated highly because it's cared for like a family heirloom, which it is. We met a representative of the current generation of owners at check-in and every staff member was familiar to us by checkout. Shoutout to Silvia on the breakfast crew for being super attentive and friendly. Vera was great, too. Location is very good - not too far from the center of town and the train station but up the hill a bit to provide a view over the valley and of the Matterhorn. It can be a schlep wearing your ski boots and carrying your skis up from the Gornergrat station or the bus stop, or hiking up to the Sunnegga elevator, but otherwise the walk is no problem. The south-facing "Matterhorn view" rooms are angled away from the mountain so that you really have to go out on your balcony or up to your window to see it off to the side. Breakfast buffet is fabulous - fresh juices, good coffee, all sorts of homemade breads and pastries, smoked salmon, eggs cooked to order, Bircher muesli, yogurt, cereals, meats, cheeses, jams and jellies. The hotel also prepares a reasonably priced sack lunch (sandwich, fruit, brownie, drink) if you don't want to eat at a restaurant on the slopes. The spa area is fantastic, though I wished it had a jacuzzi in addition to the saunas. There is an infrared sauna, an 80C dry sauna, a "bio sauna" and a wet sauna (high humidity). There is also a very cold plunge pool outdoors and areas to rest. All of the saunas are "Nacktbereich/Nude zone/Espace de nudité" but we were often the only ones there and there was plenty of space for people to separate themselves from others if they wished. The hotel offers to reimburse you for your first-class train upgrade from Visp to Zermatt, but because I had a first-class Saver Day Pass and not simply a first-class point-to-point upgrade, they said they couldn't give me a credit. It would have been a tiny sum in comparison with the bill for a six-day stay, but I thought it would have been a nice gesture nonetheless for the hotel to just give us the small credit (it would be easy to look up the cost of an upgrade from Visp to Zermatt).

What an enchanting place! My son and I stayed for three nights. Our balcony included a stunning view of Matterhorn. From the reception, to every breakfast, to the spa and incredible massage from Lisa, to all the help in between, and our last goodbye, we felt so welcomed and cared for. I'm back home now, missing our magical trip, but enjoying my coffee with the homemade biscotti they gave us as a farewell treat. So glad we carried it home in our backpack because it makes the transition to real life a little easier. I couldn't recommend Hotel Bella Vista Zermatt more. Don't even look around - book it!

We stayed at the lovely Hotel Bella Vista at the end of July and booked the “Bella Vita for bon vivants” package which included 3 nights in a double room with balcony and view of the Matterhorn, regional breakfast with homemade delicacies, wellness use of the Bella Vita Alpine SPA from 16.00 - 21.00, Private SPA, during 2 hours, 1 x 50 minute classical full body massage per person and a delicious, "Zermatt dinner" by the fireplace. We had an unfortunate fight delay that resulted in an arrival time of 10+ hours after we had intended, and past front desk hours for the Bella Vista. We were in regular contact via e-mail throughout the day. The team was very understanding and exceptionally helpful attempting to reschedule the massage and dinner. With the limited time that we had, I had initially thought we may not have an option to experience some of the things included in our package, but it truly felt like the Bella Vista team went out of their way to ensure that we could enjoy everything our package included. Their help was truly appreciated. Since we were arriving after hours, transportation suggestions and clear after hours check in instruction was provided. After a long day of travel, our after-hours entry was simple, and we found the elevator to be so helpful for transporting luggage to the higher floors. Every team member that we interacted with was helpful and friendly. The room was an adequate size and the balcony with view of the Matterhorn were true “wow” factors. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony with stunning views every afternoon after the days adventure. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We especially enjoyed the made to order eggs, fresh baked goods, and juices. The massage was lovely and there was an option to add gratuity to the service upon completion. Thanks to the thoughtfulness of the staff, we were able to take advantage of the private spa just before our massage, and it was so much nicer to have a private experience than we had expected. The views of the Matterhorn from some of the spa features was so special. The walk to town was quick and easy and the front desk team was so helpful with providing directions. Our stay with the Bella Vista was exceptional and we would highly recommend for anyone looking for a personal stay with a perfect view. A special thank you to the Bella Vista team for their kindness and going above and beyond to make our stay outstanding.

What a gem of a hotel! It was hard to pick a place in Zermatt due to the variety and price of hotels there. Bella Vista could not be better. The staff was friendly and helpful (the only one in my stay in Switzerland of 4 hotels) and the room could not have been better. Wonderfully smelling sheets and soft goods. The breakfast was outstanding. Zermatt and the Matterhorn were so outstanding I will be returning soon and dont even have to research hotels again because I will definitely stay at Bella Vista again. They make you feel as if you are home. Highly recommend if you are staying in Zermatt.

First visit to Zermatt, stayed at this hotel, very friendly staff, and great views of the city and the Matterhorn. Stayed in the Garden Suite. Normally I strongly prefer high floors, but we soon started to enjoy this room. Very roomy, 2 bathrooms, walk-in closet area, sitting area, opens to large garden patio, and great views. It was warm in mid-July, this is a corner room with alot of windows/doors that open for breezes. Breakfasts are very good, everything you would expect, and fresh baked goods. We didn't have breakfasts included, but added them. Have breakfast in dining room or on patio. Hotel Shuttle from/to Train Station is super convenient. The hotel is located is a good location within the city of Zermatt. Not in the busiest area, up a slight hill. There are good restaurant options within walking distance. The hotel offers a light dinner option that is ok. The terrace outside of the dining room is a great area for a morning coffee, evening beer. The hotel is the right size, not very large, but not super small. Definitely a good choice in Zermatt. I will return.

Hotel Bella Vista was a perfect find! We were higher on the hillside away from the main pedestrian walkways so the hotel and our room was very quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing view of the Matterhorn from our window in our room. The hotel had an amazing outdoor deck for drinks and food. It had one of the best views in Zermatt. The staff were so helpful and kind. They picked us up at the train station and suggested hikes for us. It was also easy to walk to the main streets and cable cars. We wished we had booked more than 2 nights. The room was very comfortable. We will stay here again!
