I stayed at 85 Cape Inn in Kaohsiung for two nights and had an amazing experience. The staff offered warm and friendly service, and I was pleasantly upgraded upon arrival. The room was comfortable and clean. Its location is excellent, close to major attractions ( Dream mall, Night Market, Dome, Cijin Island,Dragon Tiger Temple)and convenient transport options (Green or Red MRT, Ferry Terminal).

Brilliant hotel situated 3 minutes from the beach and at the bottom of the main street night market. Bus stop within a few minutes walk. Great discount price for scooter rentals. We were upgraded to balcony room without request. We had daily fresh towels and water and bins changed. No recycling options, all waste in one general bin which I didn't like. Water fountain on first floor. Would highly recommend staying here.

很乾淨而且安靜的好民宿，找了非常多間去比較，很高興最後選擇在這裡，床很柔軟舒服。而且真的是海景第一排，可以在房間欣賞美麗的大海，雖然天氣不是很好，沒辦法看到藍藍的海，但海浪的聲音陪伴入眠，真的是很特別的感覺。 不過很意想不到的是，住8樓的房間，電梯只有到6樓，要搬行李走兩層上去，樓梯小小窄窄的，提大件行李的旅客要留意一下～ 還是很推薦大家來佑尼可住宿，風景美麗也離東大門近♡

The hotel is newly renovated, very spacious room with views and little balcony! The front desk ladies are super nice and helpful, and very friendly (Sorry we forgot to get your names)! We stayed on a weekday night, where the hotel/hostel is not fully booked. The stay was quiet at night which is what we are looking for. Not sure how things will be over the weekend or at the peak season when the place is fully booked. The hotel is also very close to one of the scuba diving/snorkeling tour business. It’s a bit furtheri by the harbor, but with a rental scooter, it’s easily accessible. The only one thing for us personally, the check out time 11 pm is a bit on the earlier end (we understand some of other hotel/hostel on the island do too) If the check out can be at 12 pm, it will be perfect! Will want to come back if we are back to the island again!

Love the vibe of the hotel. It was a bit confusing in the beginning as they taxi driver dropped us at a dead end road. But once we saw the hotel, we were in awe. The once abandoned warehouse looked well renovated. We got the terrace quadruple loft. It was a nice space for 2 adults and 2 kids (below 5yo). The room was well decorated and feels luxurious. Kids definitely love the loft and the bath tub. The cons about the room were: - when people goes up and down the loft, it is a little noisy. - there’s no day curtain, so we didn’t dare to open the windows too wide (people outside probably can see us) - since the location is very close to the KLR station, you can hear the train passing by (just slightly) Hotel facilities are okay. There’s no breakfast but the reception has a google maps of food (breakfast brunch etc) nearby. Staff are polite and friendly. The reception is 24/7 i think, there’s 2 laundry rooms with 1 washing machine and dryer each. Both are coin operated and you can to purchase the laundry pods from the reception. There’s snacks in the lobby, water dispenser for cold, warm and hot water on every floor. The location is right in front of the Kaohsiung Light Rail Line Penglai Pier 2 station. Easy to hop on, just need 20NTD coins. It’s close to the Hamasen Museum of Taiwan Railway and Pier2 art centre (where Wooderful land is). The area is surprisingly quiet and close to a few children playgrounds. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would enjoy coming back to this hotel again.

This is a great hotel with great service right by the night markets and the beach. Love this place!

the location is perfect. it’s peaceful and near the LRT,MRT bus station. there’s a supermarket nearby and convenience store in the building. they also change your towels everyday and free 2 bottles of water. loved my stay there

You can walk to the hotel from Xincheng station in about 20 minutes. There is a shuttle that takes you from the hotel to either Xincheng or Hualien station for free, which I appreciate. The immediate area around the hotel and from Xincheng station is quite remote and there are basically no stores or restaurants open. Thus you will probably have to eat all meals at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant itself is pretty good though and the pricing is reasonable, all things considered. The main benefit of the hotel is the hotel pool. Personally i have a bit of mixed feelings about the pool because the view of the ocean and the beach is partially blocked by some trees, however, overall it is indeed a nice view especially of the mountains in the back. You can also walk to the beach in a few minutes, which is convenient. Service is good. Overall if you are planning to check out Hualien but don't plan to go to Taroko gorge, I think this is a decent option.
