"It was the most incredible experience, whilst at one with nature, utter luxury too. The location is unbelievable, literally on the bank of the Mara River full of hippos. They are a constant entertainment from your balcony-or even your bed or actually your bath too. At night you have to be escorted as there are hippos, and even lions and elephants roaming around. The rooms are beautiful The service is probably the best I’ve ever experienced. The game drives were fabulous, our Masai guide knew the land like the back of his hand. Always felt safe. The surprise sunset drinks in the middle of the savanna topped everything! Will absolutely return Thank you team"

"We visited the Mara resort this January. The staff extends utmost hospitality and always ready to help. The food choices are limited, but if told in advance, they can prepare as per you . The services for game drive , drivers, and arrangements for game drives in the morning, are really good. Area that needs improvement is that they should have a play zone or Entertainment area which could include indoor and outdoor activities for adults and children. Since we are locked in the property for the entire day, it’s better to keep these things to keep children and adults occupied. Mostly, the staff makes your stay comfortable."

"Really liked the camp. Very luxurious amidst the jungle. The food was good. Best thing was the hippos near the camp. Also we heard a very loud lion roar when we were there, all in all a good stay. Highly recommended."

"My wife and I spent three nights at the Mahali Mzuri whilst on a Macato Safari. After finishing our Safari including the Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Lake Manyara, we found the Maasai Mara the best for up close wildlife viewing and the Mahali Mzuri perfect for luxury “camping “. The accommodations are quiet spacious and comfortable with a wonderful balcony overlooking the countryside full of wildlife. The staff were excellent. The bar did have a few non-alcoholic beers, but not enough for me. All-in-all, we would like to return for at least a week stay. Larry & Kelly St. John’s, FL"

"We stayed at Ilora Retreats for the Masai Mara leg of our trip, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is exceptional, you are right in the heart of the action, which means less time commuting and more time out in the golden hour light. The accommodation itself was excellent. It strikes that perfect balance between an authentic bush camp feel and pure luxury, with plenty of room to relax, charge up, and at the same time have enough of room on the property for the kids not to feel cramped. The overall ambience was incredibly peaceful, especially in the evenings. The food was another major highlight, fabulous quality and variety that honestly exceeded our expectations for being out in the bush. A phenomenal spot to unwind after a long day on the plains. Highly recommended."

"Wow, this was a dream come true, a bucket list holiday. This was a special holiday for my 50th birthday and it didn’t disappoint. I have no complaints and can’t find any fault with our stay here! Or safari guide Paul was fantastic showing us the animals and drip feeding us information throughout the 5 day safari there was nothing he didn’t know. Dennis was brilliant as Paul’s assistant. Geoffrey was our waiter and he was very attentive and made us feel at home straight away. Thank you to James the guard on making us feel safe on our evening safari walk. ( this is a must) Moses the camp manger was there to greet us and to wave us good bye. I left not ready to leave this wonderful place and not ready to go and with a tear in my eye! Thank you to all at the camp for a wonderful holiday xx"

"For our first safari trip ever we decided to travel to Kenya, Mara North Conservancy. Accommodation and the whole experience at Royal Mara camp was amazing and right inside the conservancy. The food was superb and so were the staff. We had a guard to escort us around the camp in case of animals coming to visit. Staying in a tent like accommodation, with all the luxuries including a bath, meant that we could hear the nature the whole time and we love that! Our permanent neighbours were hippos in the nearby river Mara plus lots of other animals that appeared when quiet & especially at night. There were two safari trips a day and each one was different and unique. We made some very special memories ❤️."

"Excellent experience at the Fairmont Mara. We were well cared for from the moment we arrived. We had an unexpected delay on the day of arrival, and they saved lunch for us and made sure we could still make our game drive the first day. Rose took such great care of us at meal time. Our guide David was amazing; we had several close encounters with elephants, lions, giraffes, and other animals that were incredible. The room was lovely (seriously best shower ever) and well maintained by Ntaiyo; it was incredibly clean, especially when you consider we were staying in a tent! I was so impressed that all the staff went out of their way to learn our names, especially the kids’ names. Would happily stay there again and wish we could have been there longer!"

"Great hotel, best spot to watch Hippos in the river, and crocodiles as well. Very beautiful river view, with fireplace in the evening. All rooms amazing and close to the river. No mosquitos problem during our stay. The staff is great, very king and helping. Also food was very tasty, bbq meat in the evening, potato fry, nice salads and other things, homemade deserts. Will suggest to everybody - family, couples , friends."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! This was our first time in Kenya and on safari and it was very difficult to find a camp that felt luxurious and was not commercial (felt like a hotel) we wanted something that felt special and Kenyan. We found it. The staff are so special. Every interaction showed that the people care about the guests, their smiles, stories and care for us will remain in our hearts forever. We really enjoyed the game drives with Daniel and Julius, our meals with Alfred and big thank you to the chef, the impeccable quality of the rooms and the special touches like the laundry, wake up call and warmed beds from Daniel, the expert cocktails from Solomon, the hot towels upon arrival and the great booking service from Linda, Judy and Sharon, the Maasai run with Alex, Richard, Cheryl, Stella and Julius, the lion hunting with John, the telescope watching, board games, the river walk with the Maasai warrior and the hippos waking us in the morning. We feel so sad to leave and already miss you all. Thank you for making this trip so memorable for us forever. We hope to return one day. All the best and thank you. Keep doing what you are doing, you are all very special."

"Great place to plan a safari adventure! Everything was wonderful. The conservancy allows for off roading getting closer to the animals. The feeling of being close to the animals in the wild is unbelievable. The tents had everything you would want - private bathroom and the outdoor shower under the stars was a peaceful way to end the day. All the staff from the receptionist, wait staff to the safari guides were exceptional. I required additional assistance in walking around and they were always there to help me. The food was very good as well. You would think you were in a hotel not in the middle of the savanna. I highly recommend going to the Karen Blixen Camp and would return again."
