"I grew up in Kenya, but this was the first time that my daughter visited Kenya and had the opportunity to go on a Safari. The Fairmont has set the standard incredibly high from the welcoming song to our final hugs farewell, the staff were attentive and very friendly. Everyone was serving with a genuine smile. Wallace welcomed us with the luxury touch of having a warm or cool towel to greet us after a safari ride was so pleasant. The food was delicious and so fresh. Through three meals every day, we really got to know Shico and she was such a delight. Wilson was a wonderful driver as we saw two male lions lapping up water; three female lions sleeping; we saw a mama eland with the legs of the newborn coming out; a cheetah trying to capture an impala. Of course we saw elephants, zebra, dikdik, jackals, warthogs, grant gazelles, giraffes, hippos, and white rhinos. Trimlett spoiled us as he turned down the bed everynight. He added little elegant touches like putting a fresh flower on our pillow. I hope to be back soon."

"HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! This was our first time in Kenya and on safari and it was very difficult to find a camp that felt luxurious and was not commercial (felt like a hotel) we wanted something that felt special and Kenyan. We found it. The staff are so special. Every interaction showed that the people care about the guests, their smiles, stories and care for us will remain in our hearts forever. We really enjoyed the game drives with Daniel and Julius, our meals with Alfred and big thank you to the chef, the impeccable quality of the rooms and the special touches like the laundry, wake up call and warmed beds from Daniel, the expert cocktails from Solomon, the hot towels upon arrival and the great booking service from Linda, Judy and Sharon, the Maasai run with Alex, Richard, Cheryl, Stella and Julius, the lion hunting with John, the telescope watching, board games, the river walk with the Maasai warrior and the hippos waking us in the morning. We feel so sad to leave and already miss you all. Thank you for making this trip so memorable for us forever. We hope to return one day. All the best and thank you. Keep doing what you are doing, you are all very special."

"Mahali Mzuri is an absolute delight in every way. The location is perfect and beautiful. The tents are gorgeous, state of the art, beautifully appointed and have an incredible view of animals every day. The food from Chef Eddie is delicious at every meal with so many choices. The game drives are the best we have ever had. We had Kas and he taught us so much. The pool was perfect for relaxing and even animal watching and the service from everyone was top notch. I would love to come back and I highly recommend it!"

"We stayed at Ilora Retreats for the Masai Mara leg of our trip, and it was absolutely fantastic. The location is exceptional, you are right in the heart of the action, which means less time commuting and more time out in the golden hour light. The accommodation itself was excellent. It strikes that perfect balance between an authentic bush camp feel and pure luxury, with plenty of room to relax, charge up, and at the same time have enough of room on the property for the kids not to feel cramped. The overall ambience was incredibly peaceful, especially in the evenings. The food was another major highlight, fabulous quality and variety that honestly exceeded our expectations for being out in the bush. A phenomenal spot to unwind after a long day on the plains. Highly recommended."

"We stayed at Karen Blixen for 4 days and went on safari everyday, it was amazing we saw every animal which was available to see, my personal favourite was seeing the lions and the cubs, our guide James was unbelievable, he was inviting, kind, and a good laugh, knowing where to go what to see, and how to get as close to the animals as possible in a safe way. Each tour last 2-3 hours you usually go in the morning at around 6:45-9 then in the evening 4-7( can be longer as we did night tour). The camp itself has loads of facilities such as a spa and a seating area where you can watch the hippos below you in there natural habitat. Each evening we were served by a gentleman named Benson who made us laugh and went out of his way to serve us traditional Kenyan dishes, which I couldn’t recommend enough it was delicious. After dinner we spoke to the night security/ chaperone who showed us where the hippos stay at night and the crocodiles in the water. Overall this was one of the nicest places I’ve been, I’ve never felt so welcomed and looked after by staff, credit to both James and Benson who where especially welcoming and a delight to speak to."

"This property is not one of the more expensive properties in the area. Location is one strike against Kandili. It is located outside of the Maasai Mara. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the entry. The staff was extremely helpful. The camp was very well kept. The tents looked like new. They were spacious. We stayed in the "superior tent". Privacy was reasonable. Meals are pretty much fixed menus. The food was great and expertly prepared. We chose to do a night game drive. The vehicles were not in the best condition. In my opinion this was a poor value for the money."

"You can hear hippos around the hotel and see monkeys jumping in the trees. The tents are spacious, and the service is excellent, giving you a personalized feel. The two guides for the game drives, Simon and Sadera, were especially professional and enthusiastic, providing us with a fantastic experience. We saw leopards and a lion king up close! The night safari was also thrilling, as we followed three lions on their hunt. Highly recommended!"

"I stayed at Fairmont Mara Safari Club for 2 nights (26-28 May). First, I have to thank our GREAT tour guide, Dominic who accompanied us during the whole journey. Dominic is quite devoted, sincere, knowledgeable, active, punctual, and cheerful. He was quite perseverant until he found 2 lions to show us at the last minute (I would even say the last second or the extra-time or +90 in football language) of our trip. He was game driving even on the way to the plane returning to Nairobi! Staff of Fairmont was also great: Wallace, William, Caleb, Patrick, etc.. (apologies for not remembering all the names). The tents are a perfect accommodation in the middle of the forest. Very clean and comfortable. The reason I am not rating 5 is that there is absolutely no internet connection except in the reception area which is quite restricting. One advice: visiting the village was not a nice experience!"

"The Karen Blixen camp takes hospitality to the highest level! It has a achieved something remarkable; as a guest every interaction with staff makes you feel they are genuinely doing their best for you in a friendly efficient manner. Job went out of his way to make us feel at home and help when our son felt under the weather. The game drives gave our family moments we will cherish forever - Laperes knowledge of the animals matched only by his driving skills! And this is not to mention the setting.. the river Mara is the perfect back drop as it promotes the feeling of relaxing and appreciating nature as the hippos lounge around and giraffes and elephants come for a drink. "From the moment you are greeted at Elephant Pepper camp you are treated as family. Moses, the manager, has a phenomenal staff that creates a wonderful, pampered atmosphere for each guest. The property is serene with a beautiful vista where animals come and graze in front of you! The luxury tents are fantastic and have all amenities needed for your stay. The chefs prepare a diverse menu with excellent cuisine. So appreciated them accommodating a gluten free diet. Our waiter was attentive and kind. The guides are personable and knowledgeable. The bush sundowner and breakfast were amazing. What topped our stay off was a special anniversary dinner, a delightful surprise that was wonderful. The small touches and service was fabulous. "Wonderful experience in the Maasai Mara! William (the camp manager) and all the staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive. We went on a lovely bush walk in the conservancy where we got a good idea of the lay of the land. On our safari into the Maasai Mara National Reserve, our guides from Kandili expertly traversed the park and found us some exceptional encounters with the park’s wildlife. At the camp, the food was excellent, the location for meal times was beautiful, including a bonfire for dinner time and the accommodation was comfortable and clean. If we are ever in this area of Kenya again we will certainly be returning customers! Asante sana, Kandili Camp!"
