Challet Fonte Nova ★★★★★

📍 R. da Fonte Nova 8, Alcobaça

"Scenic site, comfortable and beautiful rooms, friendliest staff, pleasant breakfast in a charming dining room. Would love to stay here again. Spent five weeks in Spain and Portugal and this was by far my favorite lodging.Keep the windows closed (no screens) to avoid mosquitos though."

📍 R. Dr. Francisco Zagalo 20, Alcobaça

"Check-in from 4 pm, which may be natural in Portugal, but I had time left. When I stopped by the hotel for lunch and tried to pick up my luggage, the hotel door was closed. 3 What a terrible service even though it is a star hotel."

"From our room View was lovely as we paid extra to have a sea view. Inez was very prompt at solving a little lightbulb issue. Overall the whole hotel is looking very shabby…..tired. The breakfast was quite basic, although there was a small amount of fresh fruit & fresh yogurt every morning, and the bread was great. Possibly just better lighting in the area where breakfast is served would be good. The member of staff who checked us in, and dealt with breakfast every morning could possibly do with a bit of guidance about working in hospitality."

"So, to sum up – the mobile home was in a deplorable state: dirty, the bedding awful, a constant smell of sewage, and it was located right in front of a children's playground. And in the morning, surprise! The village's summer camp came to use the pool, making it impossible to relax. The pool itself was nice but poorly maintained (green waterline), and the music was blasting from 10 am, forcing us to ask them to turn it down. Etc., etc."

Challet Fonte Nova ★★★★★
"Beautiful, historic property walking distance to the monastery and town. Pedro makes the best, most beautiful breakfast table in Portugal! Floors are original, so squeaky. Only issue because we didn’t want to wake anyone as we’re early risers."

"Staff was very friendly. Spacious bedroom and cleanliness is 👍. Is a resort … don’t expect any convenient store nearby. Other than that, we love staying at the hotel! A few days of relaxation before returning to reality 😆"

Your Hotel & Spa Alcobaça ★★★★
"I was at the most famous SPA in Portugal at the moment (1st weekend in February), chaos, too many people, some disorganization at check-in, sharing of distorted information by some employees. When the main reason is to enjoy a space that provides relaxation and well-being. They should be more careful when it comes to the hygiene and cleaning of swimming pools, because this point in particular concerns public health. The complex was not cleaned between 02/03 and 02/04. Check-in only at 4pm, when accessing the SPA it is already full. No sun loungers, no place to put towels, chaos. The way everything is organized, in my opinion they won't go far. There are many SPA spread across Portugal, smaller, but with excellent hygiene and comfort conditions. A disappointment..."

Hotel Concha ★★★
"The hotel is close to the beach, and even though the room was in the first floor we could not hear the outside during the night (however in the very early morning you could hear the sea waves). The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean. The bathroom was a bit narrow. The breakfast was good."
