"I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent experience at the hotel, Quinta da Palmeira Country House. On 17/08/2023, I made a reservation for two adults and one infant for a two-nights stay. The reservation was made through *********** and was confirmed. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the owner that I could not be accommodated because the only room available was in the main house and that my daughter, who is one month old, would be too noisy and disturb the other guests. I was very surprised by this response, as at the hotel page on *********** states that it is "family-friendly" and there is no mention of any age restrictions. Additionally, the hotels at the surrounding area were fully booked, so no other options for us with a baby. I was very polite to the owner, but he was very rude and unhelpful. He told me that there was nothing he could do and that I should find another place to stay at 8pm. I am very disappointed with the owner's attitude and the way I was treated. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and I would never stay there again. I expect with this to prevent other people from having the same unpleasant experience I had."

"This was not a pleasant stay. The hotel has a weird policy. They demand the customer to carry pool towels in the room and hand them over to the front desk upon checkout. We did not bring them down because we did not use them at all. The staff insisted that we walk back to the room and bring them down to him. To prove that we did not steal them? Never experience such disrespectful policy to the customer. This suppose to be a nice resort hotel, not a motel. There was a printed post in the room with a long list of items and their price next to them. It's a warning that if you steal any of these, you will be charged on your way out. Interestingly, we found a dinner charge got tagged on to our bill which we never dined in the hotel and funny thing was that after I argued with the staff, he could not find the receipt in the restaurant. The charge was eventually got removed of course. The hotel charged me on my credit cards in USD but did not give me the option of charging in Euro. They put 4% service fee directly on my bill as a result of charging in USD. I argued that I want to charge in Euro but they shrugged and said that's the way it is. The hotel is dated and somewhat rundown. If you are visiting Coimbra area, stay somewhere else."

"I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, set in a beautiful location in Lousã and its stunning surroundings. The staff were excellent throughout — welcoming, helpful, and always available when needed. Having now experienced four different room types, I would particularly recommend the Superior and Superior Deluxe rooms, especially the Superior Deluxe room where I recently stayed. The room was very comfortable, with good-quality linen and lovely beauty products. The outdoor swimming pool is wonderfully picturesque, and the indoor spa facilities add to the relaxing experience. Breakfast was also a highlight: generous, varied, and deluxe, with excellent local produce. I will definitely stay again."

"Our friends suggested we eat here as its somewhere they have been before. Set in beautiful grounds Hotel Rural Quinta da Geia is very pretty. We had booked in advance but it was quite quiet tonight. They have a menu of the day or a selection of other delicious options. All of the food we had was tasty and cooked just to order. We would definitely return and highly recommend."
