"Amazing staff, good location, great price and very helpful 24 hours helpdesk. Clening could be better and the doors are facing outside area so people can smoke near it, but most of the time they were polite. Amazing garden to eat outside and enjoy the weather. Some people partied one evening, but after my complaint to the reception I didn't have any problems anymore. Just mind that they have no control over neighbors, so not sure if it's 100% safe."

"Spacious room but lack of cupboards (bunk beds, useless for a couple, take up all the space at the entrance). Large windows with blackout curtains but no net curtains. Safe too small for a tablet. Food of no interest apart from breakfast. Lukewarm white wine despite the machine. SERIOUS SECURITY PROBLEM: the rooms on the floor above the reception are served by a staircase leading to the reception, and a staircase on the opposite side leading outside. In the event of fire and smoke coming from the outside, the only emergency exit is the staircase leading down to the reception. However, a lock has been added to this fire door which is closed at night. WHICH IS ILLEGAL AS WELL AS TOTALLY IRRESPONSIBLE. You follow the illuminated "emergency exit" signs and find yourself trapped. The security committee that spends the day could not have noticed this."

"The price is cheap and the room is big and nice. It is quite far from the train station, you need to take a bus, and there is still a short distance from the bus station to the hotel. This town has a hidden danger. The public transport was suspended on Sundays. We had to catch the train on Sunday. At first, we pushed our suitcases to a distant bus stop to catch a bus. We waited for a long time but no bus came. There was no one on the road and no cars. Later, we pushed our suitcases all the way to the train station, which took about two kilometers."

"The rooms could use a refresh! Avoid family rooms 122 and 123, which are very poorly located, right next to the road and opposite the garbage bins! Cars drive by until midnight and again from 6:00 am, and they go way too fast for a holiday resort with children! Housekeeping only starts at 1:30 pm, so it's difficult for a child's nap. The cleaning staff aren't very friendly; you just get the feeling you're bothering them. The pool is nice, and we always had sun loungers. The bar and restaurant are decent; the food is alright, and there's a good selection. The desserts are relatively good and varied. The bar and restaurant staff are very kind and dedicated."

"I would describe this as a simple, unpretentious budget hotel away from the crowd; just out of town in a quiet spot. On arrival, I was shown to one of the smaller purpose-built rooms/chalets by the pool but my wife and I opted for a slightly larger room in the potentially fabulous main house. Although this is a small, possibly unsophisticated establishment, all they need to do is add a few antiques, a little finesse, improved housekeeping, and you have an excellent boutique hotel. On the other-hand, you couldn’t ask for a better welcome. Big shout out to Clemente and Romeo. (However, expect local drinkers laughing and enjoying themselves late into the evening. So I suggest you avoid the rooms overlooking the bar if you’re a light sleeper.) Best regards Mr Ken Hospitality and Restaurant Critic"

"This hotel has yet to refund me for leaving early. Asked me to email have done so 3 times stoped by twice. So avoid this hotel management is a joke and incompetent and lazy. Shame it came to this with this hotel but the staff was friendly just management needs to be sacked"

"The South of France is a truly unique place! Arriving late at night, I left the train station and dragged my suitcase all the way to the hotel. The night view along the way was like stepping into a medieval European oil painting. The room was spacious enough, with a small table and chairs by the door. It was very relaxing."

"The complex houses two accommodation companies, including Odalys, as well as private rentals. It looks abandoned: small arenas overgrown with vegetation, a closed pontoon on the lake with a half-submerged pedal boat... The adjacent sports grounds belong to the local council and were deserted during our visit. The car park isn't supervised. The accommodation itself had a musty smell and outdated fixtures, etc. Arles is quite a distance away. Nothing about this place felt welcoming. We won't be returning."

"Fourth time we've been there, but certainly the last. The room we were given smelled of cold tobacco and mustiness. Noted and acknowledged by the receptionist, she offered us another one... for €10 more... No hot water in the new room the next morning... Breakfast: the oranges have disappeared this year. When it was time to pay, the receptionist told us she didn't want to take holiday vouchers that expire in December! It took a phone call to the manager to finally get them for us..."

"This place is about 10 minutes from Arles in the peaceful countryside. It has a nice pool and a garden with an outside seating area. The pool was nicely kept and clean so it was a joy to relax in it. Our room was quite spacious and had its own little terrace. The staff were really nice and helpful. The only thing that wasn't that good was that there is no restaurant in the summer holidays. You could order food but it is not availble until 20:30. Since the hotel is in the countryside, finding a restaurant involves driving."

Le Mas de Peint - Hôtel et Restaurant
"Le Mas de Peint (Le Sambuc, 13200 Arles, 4.90.97.20.62) built in 1602 by M Peint, exceeded our expectations. It was a farm with lots of land surrounding it and very, very remote. We booked the Junior Suite Elegance-Atelier (539.29€ per day with breakfast). In 1602 our room was an atelier for the “mas” or farmhouse. Our room was well-laid out and had a separate kitchen (with a microwave, stove top and oven!) The living room/bedroom had enough space for a desk and a round table so we both had space to sit at our laptops. At one end there was a fireplace (which we actually used one morning) and a (too low and too uncomfortable) sofa and coffee table. It was not so much as decorated as put together in a homey, farmhouse way. The lighting was awful--the room was dark even during the day. We had an outside sitting area and the “mas” had a large living room, dining room and kitchen that we could use just next door to our room. Also, just next door to our room, was a large enclosed sunroom where we could also sit. Our toilet was in a separate room that made the bathroom much more functional for us. There was just enough storage space for our one-week stay. Elise, Vincent, Johan and the rest of the staff were personable, professional, helpful and friendly. The staff personalized our room following our requests, including leaving us fruit and flowers. The main thing we found annoying was the breakfast. Because they were using local produce, we had apple juice (not freshly squeezed), mealy apples, mealy pears, and plums for fruit in the mornings (and they weren’t great either). We bought orange juice and melon at the Épicerie La Reg Aline Salin de Giraud and Audre could use the kitchen to make porridge for us. Even so, we were charged 30€ on days we had our own porridge and 50€ on days we had eggs. That was insulting. We were also charged extra for coffee pods (even though we left many). Very chintzy. The mas had very thick walls (making Internet or the wifi work was a challenge—which was already a challenge in the Camargue) and was atmospheric with beamed and wooden ceilings. The furnishings and decorations were pleasant, like a farmhouse should have. The mas had bikes on offer but they were old and too big for Audre anyway."

"The rooms were very comfortable, good sized with large and bathroom and shower. The location can't be beat. Centrally located but reasonably quiet. The breakfast was delicious. The croissants were some of the best we had in France and the dining room was beautifully decorated. In the reception area there was a fresh, cold water urn with floating citrus fruit and we were always greeted warmly by the desk staff."
