"The hotel room was clean, spacious, and clearly recently renovated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage safely in a locked baggage room. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with clean and very attractive pool areas surrounded by lush plants. In the early evening, you can even see fruit bats flying over the property, which adds a special touch to the atmosphere. The hotel is a bit further away from the city centre, but only 15min from the airport."

"This is a hotel that up to standard - it may not be the best in the world but I believe it is one of the best in Cairns. The location is a bit far - it take a good 15 mins walk to likely everywhere in Cairns city center. However it is one of the newest hotel in the town and could give you a good and fair service. The buildings in the hote and the pool is beautiful. When you walk around the town you will find all big brands hotel in the world but they all looks like historical buildings."

"Got economy room , only one night. Arrived late left early. Room ok, small. Had shower toilet aircon and a bed plus a jug with tea/coffee and milk, what more could you want ? Rained all night so a little noisy drip drip drip outside window.  Stay ok, will get better room next time if it’s raining. Check in/out very easy, booking easy, No problems and price was good."

"Team was very friendly and helpful. Location is great, you have the esplanade close by as well as all the touristic thing.  We had a great sleep thanks to their very comfy bed and quiet street, bathroom need some upgrading but you still have all the necessities bathtub and all. The pool was close for renovation but the lagoon at the esplanade is well worth the walk. Would definitely go back :)"

"Very grand lobby to start with. Nice hotel in a very handy location. We have a good view overlooking the sea, which is great. Just a short walk to the Night Markets. Woolworths is even closer. The Wildlife Doom is just opposite the road. So everything is so handy."

"Stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Cairns—what a treat! Check-in kicked off with those legendary warm chocolate chip cookies—pure bliss after a long flight. Bedrooms were massive and super comfy, with all the space you need to unwind. Pool area's tropical vibes nailed the Aussie escape, and staff were friendly pros. 5/5, cookie alone worth the stay! 🍪🏖️"

Max at the front desk was outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful from the moment we arrived. Mila was also wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Our room was clean, spacious, and brightly lit, with a comfortable layout and a balcony that opened to lovely views. The location couldn’t be better: easy walking distance to major tour departure points, the Esplanade, and many great restaurants. The convenience of a self‑service laundry room was another big plus during our travels. Overall, this hotel delivered comfort, convenience, and exceptional service. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cairns."

MMark J GWe loved our stay. The location is great. Walking distance to lots of restaurants, markets and the esplanade. The rooms are spacious with nespresso style coffee machines and various teas complimentary in the room. The TV had lots of free on demand movies too. The breakfast was not included in our stay but we dined once and it was great value for what was on offer. I would recommend it and stay again.

MMisafir KullanıcıThis hotel is centrally located on the esplanade, and this is its main plus. In everything else, in my view, it loses out to the Hilton , to which I moved after a few days. My room smelled to the extent it made me feel unwell. The two swimming pools they boast are a joke. In the first glass pool, you are fully exhibited to everyone on the esplanade, which is why no one swims. In the second one you can't swim if there's anyone else in the pool, it's that narrow. The spa is a private massage joint. I was given a parking spot with no remote the first day, and allowed to park as an exception - their parking is too small to accomidate a hotel of this size. It has no ev charging. The breakfast is nowhere as good as the Hiltons. In any case I fixed all these problems by moving.

MMisafir KullanıcıWe stayed in an executive room on the eighth (of nine) floors in mid-July.  The executive lounge was generally poorly stocked and food and drinks often unavailable with no staff around for over a couple of hours at a time. We were here for seven nights, so have a reasonably good time frame to judge.  The swimming pool is surprisingly frigid in July, actually unpleasantly cold when there was any kind of breeze or cloud cover.  The bathroom shower drainage was not ideal: every short shower resulted in puddles on the bathroom floor; long showers meant the whole floor was covered in standing water.  Every time the neighbors used the spa or coffee machine, the noises were very loudly transmitted into our room.  The balcony was very nice and the wicker furniture comfortable.

AAllison Paige AbroadJust okay :/ The staff was great and very friendly. However, the hotel quality did not match up with the standard we have seen at other Shangri - La Hotels. The paint on our door was badly peeling and the padded benches in our room were stained. Two of the outlets in our room did not have power. We ordered room service the first night and the rice that was sent was hard a a rock and stuck together. The location was great and the potential is there but this hotel is in need of some upkeep and a standards check. For any other hotel this would not be as big of a concern, but for the price and expectation of a Shangri- La Hotel, we were expecting a bit more.

SSarah Foo X.M.Lovely hotel located at the other end of the Esplanade. The broad walk at the back of the hotel was nice to stroll along and an easy way to get to the city center. Kudos to the reception staff, Riccardo for leaving a really good first impression when I first arrived. He was so clear in explaining everything I needed to know before I checked in, and subsequent days when I saw him he was also really helpful with whatever requests I had. The room was big and spacious, very comfy beds!! The housekeeping staff were also friendly whenever I saw them as I head out for the day. Food from the room service was tasty. However, the breakfast buffet options were almost the same everyday though, wish there could have been more variety. But overall, I still had a rather pleasant stay here(:

PPhjphjMy first room in building C was awful with the view of the opposite hotel. I could literally watch what other people did in their room and they could watch me as well. Also the room condition was so bad with crawling insects so I needed to upgrade the room. The upgraded room was fine with a poolside view and less bugs crawling on the wooden table. I understand there could be little creatures but just too many in the first room. Other than that, their food was delicious and staffs were kind and friendly. My kid loved playing in the pool.

MMisafir KullanıcıThe service was helpful and efficient particularly Paul. The bedroom 100 was an inner one with no window as such. But there was a window to a wall with 2 plants hanging down. It was a perfect place to sleep a bit like a cave in a way perfect just to sleep. As far as I could see there was only one elevator coming and going also to the roof bar. So there was a wait here. Stairs would have been preferred. The restaurant was fine too on the top floor with excellent views. Location excellent with close proximity to the lagoon for swimming and of course the esplanade.

MMisafir KullanıcıI had a great stay at Gilligan’s! The room was spacious and clean, and I was even lucky enough to have the whole dorm to myself one night. I still managed to meet plenty of people, despite being a solo traveller, thanks to the social atmosphere and nightlife. It’s worth noting that the bar/club area didn’t really get busy until late in the evening (11:30pm onwards), and the hostel is pretty deserted during the day thanks to everyone being out on tours/experiences. My room was overlooking the pool/bar area, so did get noisy at night, but the hostel offers free earplugs at reception which did the trick. It was great to have an en-suite in the room, and the bathroom was in good condition. The location is ideal, right within the hub of Cairns City, however I didn’t feel particularly safe as a solo female traveller in the area at night, so it’s definitely important to be aware of that/travel in a group where possible. The on-site travel agency is helpful and approachable, and staying at the hostel means that you can get discounted drinks at the bar and free club entry before 11pm. I didn’t end up going to any of the weekday themed nights, but at the weekend the vibes downstairs were good. The room was on the first floor and there was noise. It should be the sound of the air conditioner engine or other machinery. The breakfast is simple and does not provide the delicacies of various countries. It only has bread, fruits and some drinks. A separate deposit of 50 AUD is required upon check-in, or 100 AUD in cash.
