"What a fabulous find. We visited three times during our stay and each visit was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is amazing. Steaks are succulent and so well cooked. But so is the chicken and the salmon. Deserts are also the best we have had throughout our stay in Costa Rica. However the empanadas are really special. So well filled, crisp, and succulent. A brilliant find in such a remote place."

"We loved this hotel. The rooms were large and clean. The pool was top notch. The staff were friendly and did an excellent job. Several nice restaurants within walking distance. Adjacent to a soccer field where we saw parts of some night games.The beach was absolutely fabulous."

"Our recent stay at El Sueno Tropical was fantastic. The location is great, it is quiet and yet close enough to 3 beaches in the area. There is a store near by and lots of activities to do. We had the superior double room, which was perfect for a family with 2 children (2 bedrooms with one queen and 2 twins and a living area with couch and well equipped kitchenette including a large fridge) Beds were very comfortable and rooms were bright, nice and clean (recently renovated). The grounds are beautiful and the pool is really nice, an area where you definitely want to hang out and relax. The restaurant offers great food and the pizza is a must try ;) The bar has a nice atmoshere where you can mingle with other guests. We felt very welcome and at home. The owners Erin and Drew were exceptional hosts. They made sure every guest is happy and were very helpful with booking activities in the area and beyond. We already miss this place and are surely coming back! "

"An absolutely fantastic stay, largely thanks to the owner who is beyond friendly! Right at check-in, she proactively gave us a free upgrade to a larger room just in case a big group from the Netherlands staying nearby got too loud – such a thoughtful gesture. She also gave us some excellent local tips. Later, we were silly enough to lose our room key at the beach. We naturally paid for the replacement, but she was completely relaxed about it and made zero stress. The hotel has an attached steakhouse that opens in the evenings, and the food there was simply great. A huge thank you again to the owner for her incredible hospitality. Highly recommended!"

"To mirror everything else you've read about this place and the owners, it's straight up amazing. The accommodations were super clean, comfortable and quiet. Can't say enough about how inviting and cool the owners are. We travel a lot and good people find good people, Casa Buenavista is no exception. We stayed in the detached bungalow which is super private and has a nice patio for coffee, watching the birds, reading a book etc. The kitchen has all you'll need and more, banging air conditioner for hot days and a TV for watching Netflix at night. The outdoor shower is dope, with plants, rocks, mood lighting, plenty of hot water too. 5 min to Cabrilla Beach which was our favorite. Samara, which is 15 away, was much busier and a bit of a tourist trap which didn't fit our style. There are 5 or 6 decent restaurants within a couple minutes and a little coffee shop that has pastry's and fresh sweeties in walking distance. Can't beat the location and amenities, would definitely go back for another week long stay to recharge the batteries."
