Dover Marina Hotel & Spa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton ★★★★

📍 Waterloo Cres, Dover

"The hotel is right next to Dover Castle. As soon as you step out, you can see the White Cliffs. It was incredibly windy and cold, probably because it's winter. The hotel itself is very elegant."

I travel a lot for both work and personal, and she was definitely on par with other excellent receptionists I have met across the globe. Thanks PREMIER inn, and thanks Danni!"

Food was excellent, reasonably priced and the staff were brilliant despite them being left short staffed due to illness. We will use them again if down this way."

"This is an amazing b and b. Greeted by Phil and Margaret and left our luggage while we explored the Dover Castle and White Cliffs. Took a taxi from the rail station since the property is straight uphill. The apartment unit is absolutely fantastic! Cute small kitchen and separate shower from the toilet and sink. The bedroom has a sitting area for watching the TV on a couch. Margaret has you fill out a breakfast order form the night before, with a choice of English breakfast or continental breakfast. The food is superb. Never saw such huge croissants. On our departure day due to lots of traffic in town, she took us in her own car to the rail station since. We never met such wonderful hosts of any B & B. If we find ourselves back in Dover, would definitely stay here again . Thank you both again for a wonderful stay. Would give it a 10 stars."

"If you want to lose your money... I made a reservation via *********** at the Alma Hostel. When I arrived at the hotel, no one answered the door, the door was locked, and the windows were boarded up. No one answered the phone. There's a gas station across the street, and the employees told me it was closed, that it used to be a pub, but the owner was an alcoholic. I called *********** to see if they could intervene, but they didn't get a response either. I went to the police. They took me to the Travel Lodge in Dover. They charged my card £50 for the reservation, which I never got back."

"Excellent room and very friendly staff only issue was the toilet didn't flush after doing a number two which was embarrassing for my partner and me . I waited 10 minutes for the system to fill up but still no joy took about an hour before it would flush ."

"The cleanliness of this family-run guesthouse was reassuring; the sheets and blankets smelled of sunshine, the tables and floors were spotless, and even the corners of the bathroom were impeccably clean. The room was decorated with carefully tended green plants and warm-toned lamps, creating a cozy and homey atmosphere. The host was also incredibly hospitable, readily sharing travel tips for the surrounding area, making for a comfortable and heartwarming stay."

"This is one of the WORST hotels that I have stayed in my life time. We had booked two rooms from 19/3/26 to 22/3/26 (3 nights). As soon as we entered my room, the door closed and I was shocked to find that there was NO HANDLE to open the door from inside! Fortunately we could get out as we were travelling as a family and they opened the door from outside. The room was changed, the new room was as hot as a furnace, though the outside temperature was 5 degrees celsius. Reason given was "the room is getting direct sunlight". A fan was provided as the AC was not working. This didn't help much. Next morning there was no hot water in the room. This was restored after wasting approx two hours of our precious time, but the room continued to be suffocating. Again our room was changed and the new room door could not be double locked from inside as the lock was misaligned. Also the bathroom drain was clogged. The man at the reception expressed his helplessness to do anything about it as "it was difficult to get a mechanic in that location". Worst of all, the reception desk was not manned throughout our stay. To contact reception, we had to make a local call to their number and most of the time the call was unanswered. I strongly recommend that this hotel is blacklisted so that no one suffers the way we did."

"We arrived late evening after a family funeral. The landlady had already called & emailed me with instructions for getting in the room which were spot on. Despite it being late we still managed to beat in the pub, they were friendly & couldn’t so enough to help. The room was warm, tastefully designed & the bed was super comfy. A great price with a lovely breakfast too. Will definitely go again."

"The location is good, but there is no lift, it is inconvenient to transport luggage, I live in room 9 on the 4th floor, so I didn’t carry much luggage up, and I am driving by myself and need to find a nearby place to park. I booked the basic room. You have to go downstairs to take a shower. Not recommended to rent here if driving."
