"I told myself I will only write a review if requested, and well, here we are.  First off, the location is near unbeatable. 10/10 for the location, and for cleanliness, I feel like that’s bare minimum requirement for a hotel to be clean, but that’s where the the good news stops.  So this place is dated - the furniture looks like my grandmothers grandmother owned it. The aesthetics of the room are of a 1930’s character home, but not in a good way. Not what you’d expect from a classy hotel.  Simple things could’ve been updated to give this place 5 stars.  #1. They give you 1-ply toilet paper. Like, excuse me? Is this a prison? Who provides guests with 1-ply toilet paper?  #2. No daily room service.  This should be a given. I get daily room service if I stay at a 2 star hotel, but this place doesn’t offer it  #3. No Bluetooth Speaker in room  This is so common now I don’t know how this place doesn’t have a speaker in each room. #4. No USB outlets Again, super common thing to have USB chargers (usually hotels are putting them all around the room). #5. No Internet on the TV.  The tv is oldschool and can’t connect to wifi. #6. The blow dryer blows the fuse every time and stops working after a few seconds.  This means it’s time to upgrade. #7. The Iron leaks water everywhere. It took almost 3 times as long as usual to iron my clothes because the iron is out of date and leaks water all the time.  #8. Old-out of date everything  Everything feels, looks, and smells old. If I was an 80 year old, this would feel nostalgic to me, but as a paying customer there’s something to be said about price versus quality, and I spent about $200 more for this place than I was going to spend on Four Points by Sheraton, and this place was an uncomfortable old stay.  Mind you, I upgraded to the Junior Suite (like I do most times), so you expect you’re getting more - but that was not the case.  Based on location, this place was great. Based on experience, this place has a long way to go.  I know I’m talking about modernizing, but I’m not saying repaint, refurnish, redo the ancient bathroom, re-wire your electricals, etc. I’m saying add the small things that will put you somewhat back in the game of expectation versus price for customers who want to be comfortable during their stay.  Stop giving people 1-ply toilet paper. This is absolutely terrible. The Thriftlodge does better. You put $100-$200 investment per room one time (literally less than the cost of staying one single night) and you’ll provide a better experience for your guests."
