"Terrible experience. We had very little sleep both Saturday and Sunday night as the bar area, despite being closed, appears to be an informal gathering for all drunkards. The noise continued until 4am and management completely ignored the situation. We will not be returning."

"A lovely camp deep into the bush, being 3.5 hour drive from Jo'burg. Wonderful service, beautiful food and huge private lodges with our own jacuzzi on our deck. The rooms had a full African feel, with modern amenities. We were unlucky with the weather (a cold snap) and we needed several jumpers and sweathshirts for the early morning drives and sadly, the game was rather sparse, but we get to see lion, and loads of Rhino, giraffe, leopard on a kill and all the usual antelope, and it was a lovely "warm up act" before our trip to Mana Pools, Zimbabwe."

"My husband and I stayed 4 nights at Marataba Mountain Lodge for our babymoon and everything about our stay was so magical! The hotel itself is stunning! Our room was perched up on the side of a cliff looking over the beautiful mountains. The views were truly unmatched. We had all of the amenities we needed for a pleasant stay and the bed was super comfy! The staff was fabulous and super thoughtful... Always making sure we had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Rooms were also always kept very clean by the cleaning staff. Food was spectacular! We had a variety of options for every meal, including some super unique ones. The chef was also very accommodating to my husband and I’s picky palates. And last but definitely not least, the safari drives were amazing! Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw so many animals. Some of the highlights were 3 male lions roaring at dusk and a great leopard sighting. Marataba Mountain Lodge is truly a special place and we cannot say enough good things about it!"
