"I chose Mars Garden Hotel Hakata because I wanted something right next to the JR lines and the Shinkansen, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect. Realistically, the hotel is only about 50 metres from the station entrance. You’re basically right beside the station car park—yet somehow, it’s incredibly quiet. That combination alone is amazing. Even as a solo traveller in a single room, the experience was outstanding. It may be slightly pricey for strict budget travellers, but it is 100% worth it. Location-wise, you honestly couldn’t ask for better. The lobby feels like a five-star hotel. The staff are excellent, everything is spotless, and the overall atmosphere feels premium from the moment you walk in. My room was immaculately clean and had everything I needed. The single room is small (as expected in Japan), but extremely well designed. The bathroom is compact yet very comfortable, with a proper bathtub, a good sink setup, and a clean, modern layout. The room also had a Sony TV with Netflix, YouTube, and other apps, which was a great bonus. My only small issue was with the laundry dryers. After two 30-minute cycles, my clothes were still slightly damp. This seems fairly common in Japan, but I noticed the dryer on the 10th floor was especially slow, possibly due to lint buildup. The washer itself was very good. Overall, this is one of those rare moments where, as a solo backpacker, you stay somewhere and genuinely feel it was worth every penny. I’ve been travelling around Asia for seven years, and this is honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed. Quiet, perfectly located, high quality, and extremely comfortable. I couldn’t recommend Mars Garden Hotel Hakata more. Five stars all around."
