"I stay in Travelodges most weekends, and while they do vary in standard, this was by far the most unpleasant experience I have had to date. Both my room and a colleague’s had the most horrendous smell. Even after leaving the window open all night and throughout the following day, when I returned to the room for the second night, it still stank. It is beyond me how rooms in this condition could be considered ready for the next guests. Surely ensuring that a room is clean and free from unpleasant odours should be one of the most basic aspects of housekeeping. A very disappointing experience. Shocking, frankly."
