"On arriving it was just a simple check-in, nothing special just a business transaction. When I got to the room it stunk and the balcony door was open. It appeared to come from the newly renovated bathroom. Looks good. I opened up the bathroom window and balcony door and poured water down the bathroom floor drain and that appeared to fix most of it. The motel has comfortable beds and great pillows. The AC is good with a good size TV for the room. Has fridge and full set of utensils etc for a lengthy stay. Room size is bigger than average and parking is clearly marked. They sell snacks etc and it also has a laundry and you just work it out for yourself."

"Very disappointing for the price. The queen beds were very old, too firm, noisy and not comfortable. The additional rollout bed did not come with any top bedding - only a sheet and as the front counter appears to only open from 9am to 2pm daily, we could not recieve any type of service at all. The apartment was very obviously lacking any real maintenance:- All split system air conditioners air filters were so dirty they didn't work properly. The shower glass and framing was very mouldy and corroded. The mixer taps were loose and bent. The shower nozzles were broken with lots of water just dribbling out. The toilet flush button and brush were corroded. Almost all exterior lights at the entrance to the apartments were faulty making it difficult to find the lock box during the after-hours check in."

"I have stayed here a couple of times and overall it's a nice place to stay. I was just a little bit disappointed with my second time stay when I had to call the mobile number to get the access code to get in. Nobody answered and I left a voice message and also a text message. I waited for around 15 minutes making a few more calls to the same number during this time before someone finally got back to me. I'm a frequent traveller and I always get a text message with the access code from those hotels which use such systems. I hope that this is taken in good faith to improve this process making it easier for guests."

"The rooms were absolutley beautiful. Very stylish, modern and very large. The super sized King bed was so comfortable and we had a fantastic nights sleep. The Sky Deck Bar was great. Relaxing atmosphere and a great place to enjoy your complimentary drink. The reception staff were very friendly and the complimentary secured parking was a welcomed bonus. Overall this has been the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Highly recommend!"

"Had a cracking stay at Highpoint International Hotel in Gladstone! My room was clean, cosy, and up on the top floor with stunning sunset sea views—couldn’t ask for better. Location’s spot-on in the city centre, and the pool was a great bonus. Staff showed top-notch hospitality. The Mediterranean restaurant really impressed—had one of the best steaks and seafood feeds I’ve had in a while. Would absolutely come back!"

There is an entertainment city on the other side of the building where the hotel is located. The hotel locks the door at night, and it is safe to stay in the room."

"We arrived to be greeted by a mongrel dog owned by one of the long term residence. There's a car with no number plates, full of trash parked in front of their unit. The guy upstairs did a drug deal right in front of me. The bins are located at the front of the hotel so it's one of the first things you see, they were all overflowing and reeked, they probably don't get cleaned after bin day pick up. We haven't even stepped into our room and we are already dreading what we might find. Well it was as expected, beds weren't made properly, pillows looked like someone threw them on the bed from the doorway, the room smelt dirty and unclean. We used own our bed linen we were fortunate enough to have with us. The so-called drinking glasses were filthy and still had someone's lip impression around the top of the glass. The latch on the door was broken and just hanging there doing absolutely nothing. We had showers and while doing so there was a disgusting odour coming up from the drains. We had booked the unit for 2 nights, we stayed one night as we had driven a long way to get there and it was Good Friday and there wasn't any other accommodation close by. We left very early the next morning, never to return again."

"Stayed in room 36 for a week. Air con was not functioning well. Air con Would only work for around 45 minutes at a time before having to restart it by manually tripping the circuit breakers when it stopped. It was looked at by a maintenance man and an electrician during our stay, but, no air con in a hotel room in Central Queensland does not make for a comfortable experience. No offer to switch to another room for comfort. Only one Inverter for 3 air con head units in the apartment."

"This place is grotty. The outside is not maintained at all. The room I had was clean, but I was with colleagues and their rooms were dirty. Wifi didn’t work. Rang to ask about it. No help. Seedy place, noisy with FIFOs, just awful. We asked to be moved by our employer as the place was not good enough for two week stay. Definitely not a family place if you’re travelling. Really run down. Came out to go to work each day to empty beer bottles, cigarette butts and jumble of chairs outside my door."
