"The biggest surprise of our trip to Pingshan was definitely this guesthouse – I have to give it a huge shout-out! It was newly renovated and opened in 2026, so all the facilities are brand new. Our room was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable; every corner was spotless. The location is superb, just a few minutes' drive to Pingshan Grand Canyon, so no need to rush in the morning. My family of four (two adults, two kids) overslept and missed breakfast. The landlady was incredibly warm-hearted and specially cooked a bowl of noodles for each of us. She even thoughtfully drove us directly to the scenic area entrance. It was sweltering hot in the mountains during mid-summer, and we were all drenched in sweat. The landlady then picked us up punctually from the entrance to take us back to the guesthouse. She was on call the entire time, always anticipating our needs and taking care of everything for her guests. The landlady was genuinely friendly and enthusiastic, treating us like family. This trip created so many warm memories because of this guesthouse. I highly recommend it to families traveling with children. Next time we visit Hefeng Pingshan, this will be our top choice! These are my honest feelings, though I did catch 38-degree Celsius weather, which was just too hot!!! I'd suggest coming when the weather is more favorable."

Hefeng Anzishan Homestay (Pingshan Canyon) ★★★
"The owners were very attentive; their place is newly built, so the facilities are quite new. However, the country roads after exiting the highway were a bit difficult to drive on rainy nights. The owners offer free pick-up and drop-off at the scenic area and can help buy boat tickets. Unfortunately, we drove for two hours, stayed overnight, and the next day Pingshan Grand Canyon was closed. That was the biggest regret of the trip. The owners were great, and I'll definitely come back next time."

Hefeng Banshandu Homestay (Pingshan Canyon) ★★
"Planning a road trip through Pingshan Canyon in Hefeng, I compared over a dozen guesthouses before finally settling on Banshandu. This mountain retreat was the highlight of the entire trip! Hidden deep in the mountains and forests, nestled against pristine natural landscapes, its unique and irreplaceable environment is unparalleled. In the evening, standing on the wooden terrace veranda, the distant mountains are bathed in the glow of the setting sun. Warm, star- and moon-shaped lights hang beneath the veranda, and white woven hanging chairs sway gently in the breeze. Sitting there at night, enjoying the mountain breeze and chatting, the atmosphere is simply divine; every snapshot is a masterpiece of ambiance. The backyard boasts a natural rock waterfall, with babbling mountain spring water cascading down the rock face. The lawn is meticulously manicured, and the pebble path is adorned with uniquely designed greenery. While strolling around, I even encountered the owner's gentle Bichon Frise dog wandering in the yard—so soft and cuddly, it was incredibly soothing and adorable! The guest rooms feature a warm, modern Chinese style decor with natural wood accents. The entire room is bright and airy, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the lush green mountains from the bed. The bedding is fluffy and clean, and since it's a new establishment, many items are brand new. The room is equipped with a projector and brand-name appliances, far exceeding the standards of other guesthouses in the same price range. The owners are incredibly thoughtful. They provided a generous breakfast upon check-in, and the owner's homemade pickled radishes were especially delicious. They also offer a pick-up and drop-off service at Pingshan Scenic Area. To avoid the hassle of parking our car at their place, the owner drove us to the scenic area in his Mercedes and then waited for us at the scenic area again! A truly hidden gem of a guesthouse, I've already recommended it to friends and family planning a trip to Hefeng."

"I went out to play so many times, and I met such a good aunt and uncle for the first time. Auntie saw that our time was not very urgent, and took us to the mountain to eat pig rice, and went all the way through the snow to eat the authentic farmhouse dishes in the mountain. It was super delicious. If it weren't for the aunt to take us there would be no chance to see the snow scene like a dream and feel the local simplicity. I also ate at my aunt's house these two nights, and the food I cooked was super delicious. The homestay is not very far from the city. There is a pick-up and drop-off. The room is clean and hygienic. You can see the green water outside the window, quiet and comfortable. I want to experience local authentic food and a different style. Highly recommended! !"

"The bosses looked like an honest and kind couple. We wandered around the mountains and arrived at 11:30 pm. It was raining and other B&Bs were dark, but I was really touched to see the boss and his wife still waiting for us with their lights on and the door open. It was the first time I knew that wooden floors could really reflect people. They were completely spotless.
