Perfect Layover Stay at Haneda!
Stayed at Villa Fontaine Premier Haneda Airport during an 11-hour layover with my nephew — super convenient, located right in Terminal 3. Accidentally went to Villa Fontaine Grand first, but staff kindly pointed us to the Premier.
✨ Highlights: Beautiful decor, smooth check-in, and a room with a stunning river view.
♨️ Amenities: Cozy bar, great access to airport shops and transit.
🛁 Room: Clean, quiet, stylish, and super comfy.
🍽️ Breakfast: Tasty buffet with both Western and Japanese options.
🛎️ Service: Friendly and professional staff.
💗 Overall: Great choice for a relaxing, high-quality layover stay. Would definitely book again!

Location was great. Quiet area of Ginza, very safe. Within walking distance of the main shopping areas, restaurants, the most important Family Mart and 7eleven right across the street. Railway stations within walking distance. Rooms are a good layout and they make the most of every available space. Breakfast buffet was excellent, everything Japanese you could want plus some western options as well.

It was very unpleasant that duringhte check in I was told that the hotel would be closed for maintenance from the day of my departure so that I could not keep my luggage after the checkout.
I wasted good 1 hour looking for coin lockers at the Otemachi station and had to spend 4000 yen to keep my luggage.
If I knew this at the time of booking, then I 두 번째 생각을 했을 거예요. 이것은 제가 하룻밤에 $1,000를 지불했을 때 기대했던 서비스가 아닙니다.

The hotel is situated just next to Exit C1, which is very convenient. Easy for travellers who have luggage. Staff is always friendly and polite. Breakfast spread is not much, but do have a balanced wholesome food available. It is a nice gesture for the hotel to provided free breakfast for guests.
One of the few hotels with public bath in Tokyo.

This hotel is great if u like onsen. We like to use the onsen every night after an exhausting day walking. Then enjoy a free ramen or ice cream. There’s free small simple ramen each night on the 2nd floor, free coffee, at the lobby, yakult & ice cream (15th fl) ( during specific time slot’s) We never used our room shower cos it’s tiny. We go to the public bathroom where u wash up sitting on a stool, then enjoy the Onsen & Sauna. Free drinks available at a drink machine in the sauna, also toiletries like shampoo & such. At the ladies washroom u can choose from a selection of shampoo & conditioner. But u can’t use the onsen if u have a tattoo. On the 15th floor, washing machine available for free, u gotta pay to use the dryer, but is quite cheap, we used about 300 yen to dry a full load of clothing. There’s also free manga, & a smoking area.
U get pick up extra towels at the reception, also stuffs like toothbrush, razor etc.
Hotel is within walking distance to many kombini’s, supermarkets ( I recommend Seiyu) & Sunshine City. Room is quite small though, but we had no trouble with 2 large suitcases. I like it that u can open the window to get fresh air, & it’s not far from the Ikebukuro station where all the shopping, food & actions are! I love going to the food street at Loft & Parco. Tobu is also amazing with lot’s of food & the biggest Daiso in Tokyo. We used the airport limousine bus to travel to & from Narita. Bus stop is at Sunshine City Prince hotel, ( 5 mins walk all flat terrain).
I would suggest the hotel make extra space by hanging up certain things, like the hair dryer, television. The walls are very empty, there can be more hooks, planks available for guests to place their stuffs or hand up a bag or jacket.
I also have a slight complain about the water kettle in our room. It won’t stop automatically when at boiling point, we asked the reception to change it, she said the cleaning lady will. But we found out the next day the kettle is still the same! We gave up cos sometimes communication in English isn’t totally ok with some staffs & just manually switch the kettle off every time it boils.
But all in all just some minor bugs, we did enjoyed our week-long stay here & will certainly consider coming back!

Cleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

I really wanted this hotel to work for us. It’s been hyped on social media, and the photos make it look incredibly beautiful. And to be fair, it is visually appealing. But very quickly we realized it was not a good choice.
The rooms are extremely small. You can barely get through the door with your luggage, and once inside there’s hardly any space to open even a small suitcase. The mirror is blocked by your coat because the hangers are positioned directly above it, which is a very odd design choice. The sink in the bedroom splashes water everywhere, so you constantly have to wipe it down or keep towels nearby. The room looks great in pictures, but that charm disappears the moment you actually try to live in it. DO NOT book it if you're planning to do any shopping. I feel like this place could somehow work with backpacks only.
There are also no towel hangers at all. After using the onsen or taking a shower, you’re left wondering what to do with your wet towel. The bathroom has no space or rack for it either. I’ve never been this frustrated by a room’s design before, it consistently highlighted poor decisions that could have easily been avoided.
Lighting was another major issue. The only usable mirror for doing makeup is badly lit, with only an overhead light that casts unflattering shadows, almost like the “Bohemian Rhapsody” music video. If you enjoy getting ready in the evening, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The small slit-style window is a cool idea at first, but it becomes annoying and doesn’t provide enough natural light. The lobby, although pretty, wasn’t comfortable to sit in, so it stayed empty. Interestingly, cheaper hotels provided a portable mirror- something this place completely overlooked.
The one true highlight is the rooftop onsen. It was very clean and lovely, and the lockers and hair-drying area were comfortable and well thought out. But bear in mind you will spend max 30mins there, and the rest of the time you will just be annoyed by the hotel.
Overall, the hotel’s aesthetic is beautiful, but the practical design issues made our stay frustrating and far from enjoyable.

Second time in this hotel and I liked it very much. The hotel is around ~8 minutes walking from Ikebukuro station North West exit. You can choose your pillow, get a pajama and take a bath. If you don't use toothbrush you can give back to the lobby and get a little snack which I did to try Japanese local snacks. The size of the room is okay for solo travelers. The breakfast is self service with japanese and western cuisine. And the staff are just so kind. I highly recommend if you're looking for modern Japanese experience.
