1、酒店位置很好，走路去遊船碼頭也就10分鐘之內，附近餐廳非常多，食宿都很方便。房間很大，還有一個客廳，出乎意料，但客廳一側在床邊，旁邊就是街道，早晚有些吵，特別是英國車速一般都比較快，要略注意。早餐是提前準備的麪包酸奶麥片牛奶之類，有的在冰箱裏，有的在儲物櫃裏，不要有太大期待。 2、自駕過來的話，和前台要一張停車卡，每天3英鎊，無限停車，有好幾個位置可以停車，其實很方便。離開的時候，可以先去停車場開車，回來的時候把鑰匙和停車卡放前台就可以。

環境：漂亮的英式老房子，內部精緻小巧、整潔乾淨，很多可愛的小擺件。 設施：床品温暖，毛巾雪白，免費氣泡水、歡迎牛奶。有熱水壺，床頭USB插座。 餐點：早餐七八種套餐可選，全英式的非常豐盛，甚至可以選擇低卡咖啡、低卡茶！ 服務：房東很和善、紳士，會用漢語講「煎蛋」、「荷包蛋」哦。

Rum Doodle, well it was our first time at The Lakes and it certainly won't be our last! The location was just right with being part way between Windermere town and Bowness and was walkable to both. There were plenty of shops, bars and restaurants in walking distance as well as lake Windermere itself. We found Rum Doodle with ease and was greeted at the door with a smile and friendly man (the owner but didn't catch his name). We were bought a fresh glass of apple and orange juice to our room which was refreshing after a long drive to Windermere. Our room was comfy, not too big or too small, a wardrobe, seating in the bay window, hairdryer, hot drink making facilities, wine glasses with cork screw and bottle opener. Very modern, clean and well presented bathroom with soft and fluffy towels, and a really nice shower. The bed was very comfortable and welcomed after a busy day exploring the surrounding area. Breakfast was really good with cereal, fresh fruit and yogurt, toast, and then a choice of breakfast which were great too. We had a pleasant and informative chat at breakfast with the lady that works there who gave us the heads up on some driving routes to try and avoid which was really useful. After a day out exploring we went back to Rum Doodle to a cleaned room and freshly made bed with the tea and coffee replenished, so we were able to just drop and the bed with a nice cuppa and biscuit. Then out for a walk, some lovely food and a couple of drinks. We couldn't recommend The Lakes and Rum Doodle enough! Well worth every penny

Staff were the most friendly we've ever experienced The food we had was very nice The room we had was immaculate even if it was pink panther watching us lol , will definitely be going back again in the summer thanks to all the staff

酒店整體不錯，外面的草坪景觀沒有圖裡那麼大。酒店下山要走20分鐘，下山就是bowness小鎮了，可以去坐船。晚上回去還是打的比較好，有一次回去後半段路完全沒有路燈，體會到了“夜色正濃”。酒店房間的名字都是以湖區各個小鎮的名字命名的，蠻有意思的。酒店都是包早餐的（攜程顯示沒有，其實當地都是包的），後來自己訂的晚餐也好吃，很精緻。

The Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness. The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude. The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens. We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that. Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

The hotel seems still under renovation. Flies were flying around in the room and could not sleep well at night. Towel heating rack in the toilet is partially rusty. SPA facilities has not been used, but seems not bad. Suggest to extend the closing time till 8 PM or 9PM to facilitate visitors after the sightseeing around Lake District.

The location and hygiene of this hotel is okay, except that the carpets don't seem to have been cleaned for a long time. I was most dissatisfied with a male waiter, his attitude was particularly bad, I suspect he was a racist, his attitude was really bad, I have stayed in so many places in the world in hotels and B&Bs, this male waiter's attitude was the worst, I entered the staff area is my fault, but I entered from the restaurant, there is no staff only to enter the prompts, the male waiter kicked me out like a dog, I felt I was insulted.The waiter shooed me out like a dog, I felt insulted, it seems that the quality of the British people really needs to be improved.

Easy to book. Easy to check in. Peaceful. Free street parking. Open top bus stops outside for trip around lakes. Overall, great experience! Fully equipped clean kitchen available if needed. Near homegrown coffee shop that's serves great healthy breakfasts.

Room was a good size. Plenty of parking available. Swimming pool was nice. Nice view of the lake from the gardens. Very friendly staff. Lovely food. Pleasant gardens. The lounge was relaxing with nice sofa . Some minor issues: Lack of shower pressure ， toilet wouldn't flush properly, blood stain on the floor of the toilet, took ages to get hot water through for showering
