"Fantastic 1 night good rest with scenic activities in a large classy hotel! Wonderful sea view from the room. We did the lake cruise (offered with room booking) and visited Enryakuji on the mountain easily with a discount coupon from hotel. Beautiful autumn foliage! Good value with free shuttle and friendly service from Otsu station overall. No good restaurants nearby, better book with dinner options or dine at hotel’s restaurants. Wasn’t crowded in early Dec. A good break from crowded Kyoto."

"Location of the hotel is very convenient. It is 5-10 min walk from JR Otsu station which is only 2 stop away from JR Kyoto which costs about 200 yen. The room is clean and quiet but it is a bit tight for 2 mid size luggages (to open simultaneously) but still manageable. Hotel comes with full Japanese breakfast and has coin operated laundry (200yen) and dryer (free). We enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who don't mind staying out of Kyoto."

"I couldn't speak Japanese but I could feel that they are treating every customer seriously. Their greetings and sincere services impressed me. There was a problem with my booking initially, not sure why because I didn't get proper explanation from the hotel and Trip.com, the hotel didn't mention anything however arranged some small surprise when they knew this is an anniversary trip. I tried to upgrade my meal with crab as my wife not quite like beef and fish, they said unavailable so I keep to the original. At the end I got crab, fish and beef that surprises me. I was later received a souvenir from the hotel when they served the dessert. The hotel is busy but I'm not seeing lots of people, may be all of them staying at their rooms. The experience for me was exceptional when I woke up at 6am witness the beautiful sunrise right outside the huge window, and saw an eagle passing by my camera when trying to capture that moment. Later on when I take the free shuttle bus ride to the nearby train station, I saw an eagle again came down and climbed up outside the station. Not sure it means anything, but definitely this is a very spiritual journey for me."

"住宿帶早餐，且早餐豐富，住了三天每天都換花樣，這個挺好。酒店距離JR大津步行5分鐘左右，周邊有一些商店和超市，步行可以到三井寺，但比較安靜，沒什麼遊客。入住在14樓，房間雖小但設施齊全我，住宿自己在機器上操作，有中文提示，選擇了不要打掃，而每天都給你新的毛巾，掛在門外袋子裏。第一天下午房間wifi可用，但晚上就不能用，去前台交涉，溝通上有點周折也算順利解決，另外給了一個密碼，但住的三天14樓那個房間的wifi不是很穩定。總體還是比較推薦的一個去處。"

In general, the hotel situates for just a 2-minute distance from Seta JR Station, and it takes around ~20min travelling time from/to Kyoto. Reasonable facilities given the price is economic. "設施比較老舊，空調大概是昭和時代遺留的，榻榻米倒像是新裝的也挺乾淨，整體衞生很乾凈，浴室也很衞生，酒店包含早餐。從京都站坐jr過來就2站非常近，但是價格卻是京都的一半都不到，週末京都的酒店實在太貴了，這裏這讓我很滿意。從jr出來有直通電梯上樓就是酒店，就算是下雨也不怕哈哈哈哈，沿着圖片中這條路直走就是琵琶湖。"

"勝在位置優越，離石山J R站公交站走路2分鐘。周邊吃東西也十分方便，品種選擇多。酒店雖然房間有點小，設施有點陳舊，但服務態度好，整潔。大堂有免費茶水咖啡，清潔用品需要自取。提供行李寄存。總之很方便。"

"It was a great stay at this ryokan! The hotel is able to arrange a car to fetch you from the JR station. You can call them using a dedicated phone at the station which is used to contact the different ryokans. The car arrived in 10mins or so. The ride to the ryokan was also less than 10mins. The hotel also fetched us to the station on the last day of our stay. The ryokan itself is homely and cozy. We were greeted by an english speaking staff who introduced us to the amenities of the ryokan. There was also a nice welcome tea and matcha chocolate. Our bags were brought to our room as well during this time. The room is spacious and cozy. The hotel prepared 2 welcome biscuits in the room which was a nice personal touch. The room has a nice living room and a great view of Lake Biwa. Recommend to catch the sunrise over the lake! There are 2 normal beds as well as futon beds (need to set up yourself). Both are comfortable. The hotel also prepared pretty yukata for both female and male guests which you can wear during the stay. There are 4 different designs for ladies, and one design for the guys. You can request for different size if the one in the room doesn’t fit you. There is also a full length mirror and a mini dressing area at the side of the living room. It was fun dressing up in the yukata! The toilet, basin, shower and hot tub areas are all separate. The toilet is a little small, but the basin and mirror area is very spacious. The shower area is quite small as well and the shower head is rather low so you need to hold the shower head if you wish to wash up while standing. There is a small stool given for you to sit down though. The hot tub area is semi-outdoor and you can see Lake Biwa. But it is quite small (only good for one person). It was too cold so we didn’t use the hot tub. Instead, we booked the private onsen for 50mins. The private onsen has a private toilet and dressing area which is equipped with hairdryer, body lotion etc. There is a water dispenser as well if you need to hydrate yourself. The onsen area has a washing area, and the hot tub area is spacious for 2 person. There are privacy screens around the onsen area but there is a small gap to let in cold air for ventilation. Wish there is a good view from the private onsen but it was still enjoyable! Dinner and breakfast was Kaiseki style, and the meals were one of the highlights for my husband and I. We really enjoyed the courses which are clean tasting yet wholesome, fresh and flavourful. It was such a sumptuous treat! The ryokan also has a souvenir shop if you wish to buy anything back. Overall, my husband and I really enjoyed the stay here and we agreed this was one of the main highlights of our 12 days trip in Japan. Highly recommend!"
