Parco Aurora Terme

"Our room had a balcony and looked out over the 2 pools, and had a sea view. The room was less equipped than we are used to. The mini bar was either locked or jammed shut. The air conditioning was similar to an asthmatic mouse blowing through a straw, there was no kettle or drinks making facilities, and dated 70s decor . The shower worked well. The room was large and clean. The few plugs were type C two pin. The waiting staff in the restaurant were excellent, English is not one of the most used languages in the hotel,so get used to the words you will need. Mostly German and Italian. It says it’s a no smoking hotel with no pets, we saw both pets and smokers. Would I go again, (I may not be welcome after this review) would I recommend, maybe."

Hotel Da Maria

"A beautiful hotel set in an idyllic location. We came here on our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The hotel staff were lovely and we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. The room was beautiful, with views overlooking the castle, the little beach and Mount Vesuvius in the distance. The en-suite bathroom was a good size with an amazingly powerful shower. We ate in the hotel restaurant a couple of times. Most dishes are seafood based and also rabbit is an Ischian speciality. It was very easy to book a water taxi from the hotel to take us round to Ischia Ponte, a very short journey of 5 minutes, and we made use of this service most days. If you are staying at the hotel it costs €3 each per journey. Ischia Ponte is beautiful, lively and bustling with plenty of bars, shops and restaurants. We visited the castle one day which was very interesting and well worth it. We went to Ischia Porto a couple of times, which is bigger than Ischia Ponte, again with lots going on. One day we took a ferry from Ischia Porto to Naples to spend the day there. It took about 1 and a half hours to get there on the ferry, which was easy to book. Well worth a visit if you have time, but lovely to get back to the island after a day in the very busy city. We loved everything about our holiday in Ischia and would highly recommend the Da Maria hotel. "

Hotel Rivamare

"A Little Gem of a hotel situated down a side street and right on the beach. Calm, relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. We had room 102 and although it was a basement room it was in no way dark or dingy, we picked this room because of the seperate private terrace. It was spotless and cleaned every day. At this time of the year (April) it was very quiet but I can't see it being noisy even at the height of the season. Great value for the price we paid. The service was excellent, friendly, efficient and helpful at all times. I would recommend Hotel Rivamare to anyone seeking a no-frills, basic, clean, friendly, family run hotel. We had a lovely time and hope to return in September!"

"I was visiting cousins in Ischia and this was my third visit to the island. The staff in the restaurant was super sweet. The breakfast and dinner were both tasty. The room was cleaned each day. The front desk staff was helpful until they told me I had to pay for several items in cash such as the massages, the overpriced laundry, a visit from their on site doctor when I was ill, and the taxi drivers, that claimed they did not accept cards. I said my bank does not allow me to take out more than a small amount per day and they insisted I go to my ATM every day until I had the cash they demanded. Upon checkout at 5am, they were insisting that I pay for the items in cash and I told them never in my life has a hotel requested this and I wanted to charge everything on my card. This, by the way, is the law in Italy. Businesses must accept credit cards!! To avoid missing my taxi to the port at 5am, I paid them for the items in cash. My Taxi driver was paid by my uncle in Ischia who was worried I would be taken advantage of by the many taxi driver crooks who claim they don't take cards and then overcharge in cash. This hotel disappointed me because I feel they were contributing to the dishonesty of some Italians towards tourists. The room was average without any toiletries, only local channels on a tiny TV available, and the pool forced us to wear swim caps like we were out of a 60s film. Water bottles were 4 euros each and they would not offer us tap water anywhere except from our bathroom sink. The hotel itself is a maze. In short, it's a hotel if you want a modest stay in a hotel for an older population, close to the port. And beware...Refuse to pay for anything in cash. Again, they were breaking the law as do many taxi drivers and business owners do in Italy!"

Hotel Continental Mare

"The check-in process was quick and welcoming, and the complimentary gifts for special occasions were a sweet touch. Our room was conveniently located near the common areas, but being on the ground floor, it was damp and had noticeable odors coming from the kitchen. Beach towels, however, are not included and come at an extra cost. On the day of check-out, there is a €30 fee per person to continue using the facilities after 11:00 AM. Lunch offerings were below the island average. The beach isn’t too far, but there aren’t enough sun loungers or space, and no umbrellas are provided. On the day of departure, we were offered a taxi to the ferry port, but it turned out not to be a licensed taxi and charged us €20. Be prepared if you would like to enjoy the hotel after 11:00 AM to pay extra total 80 Euro including transfer."

"Great location, with the most friendly and attentive staff at reception, the outdoor pool bar, and at the morning breakfast area. Outdoor pool area was clean and not over crowded, the indoor spa pool was compact and most relaxing, with a fine range of spa services available, and which we used. Room was compact, clean, and did the job, nice size outdoor balcony over looking pool area which we had paid for / requested. Room was fully serviced on a daily basis (Grazie!)."

"A traditional style hotel only a block from Ischia Porto. Room had a small terrace overlooking the pool & garden. Buffet breakfast served in the dining room. Rooftop area with tables & chairs & solarium. Check in was easy as reception is always manned."
