"This was the worst hotel I ever stayed at in Izu! Absolutely not recommended! This is also the first time I've written such a long negative review as a Black Diamond member! Service: Issues: 1. This hotel is clearly designed to rip off Chinese tour groups. There were several buses parked outside, and the first floor was full of random gift shops. 2. When we got off the bus, the staff at the entrance were indifferent and didn't offer to help with our luggage. 3. Less than five minutes after we entered, or even before we finished checking in, they were already pressuring us to write fake reviews on Instagram or other social media platforms—or rather, fake positive reviews—trying to bribe us with gift shop coupons. It was incredibly low-class. 4. They told us check-out was at 10 AM, so I double-checked with them, asking if they were sure it was 10 AM. Because every time I stay in a hotel in Japan, check-out is at 11 or 12 AM. They then arrogantly told us that Japanese hotels check out at 10 AM, without any explanation for their superior attitude… It's no wonder they can only cater to low-priced tour groups in Japan with this kind of service. 5. When we asked them to bring our luggage to the room, the receptionist pretended to look for a bellhop, then feigned embarrassment and said, "Sorry, you might have to carry it up yourself." Environment: I was devastated when I entered the room. The stale, rotten smell was impossible to dispel, and opening the window let in swarms of insects. The decor was incredibly outdated, like a guesthouse from the 70s or 80s. Nobody in China would want to stay there for 200 yuan. The view from the hotel balcony was also very mediocre. Cleanliness: This was the worst part. There were bloodstains on the blankets!!! Because they only had a duvet cover on one side of the blankets, the other side wasn't. We asked a staff member to change the blankets, and every single one had!!! Various disgusting bloodstains and filth!! They changed almost six blankets before finally finding one without any obvious stains! Finally, they put duvet covers on both sides of the blanket, but I already felt extremely disgusted and barely touched it all night. Secondly, the cups in the room were wrapped in plastic film – honestly, I haven't seen cups packaged like that in over 10 years! The whole room felt filthy! My friend and I didn't sleep well at all and left early the next morning. Frankly, if I didn't have other plans in Nishi-Izu the next day, I would have driven straight back to Tokyo that night. In short, I highly, highly do not recommend this hotel. The service was poor, the room was filthy, and every aspect was problematic. If you ask me why I don't have any photos, I'll tell you it's because every second I spent in this hotel was unbearable; I had no desire to take pictures."

"I booked this room after seeing an ad on social media, but then I saw the terrible reviews on Ctrip. I took a chance, hoping I'd get a newly renovated room. Turns out, I hit the jackpot (in a bad way): 1. The room was incredibly old. The bathtub looked just as creepy and terrifying as in other users' photos. 2. The room had a musty smell, a really old, stale musty smell. 3. For our pre-booked dinner, we were led to a small section far from the ocean view window. I noticed that all four or five tables that dined there after us were also Chinese speakers. 4. The dinner and sashimi weren't fresh; the fish meat was discolored internally. **After leaving the hotel, the more I thought about it, the more something felt off. I'm not sure if it was my nationality being targeted, or if Ctrip was being targeted.** 5. I found that the room type offered on Ctrip couldn't be found on Japanese websites. 6. I also found that the dinner booked through Ctrip was different from what was offered on Japanese websites."

"A really nice resort hotel. The room was spacious, and the private onsen bath was very clean. The peculiar smell was likely from the tatami mats. We had the hotel's set menu for breakfast but didn't have dinner at the hotel. The supermarket next to Izu Kogen Station offers abundant sashimi, enough to eat your fill. The photos show the places we visited during our stay, and it was all very relaxing. Having seen some less favorable reviews, let me share my own experience. The hotel's occupancy is highly seasonal, so there might not be many staff members, but they all provided attentive service. During our stay, the station pick-up and drop-off service was always well-arranged. When I'm on vacation, I prefer to relax and not be disturbed, so I opted out of daily room cleaning. I've stayed at some older Japanese-style hotels, similar to those in areas like Shikoku's Oboke, and this level of service is pretty typical. Of course, perhaps I just haven't visited enough Japanese resort hotels to generalize. Overall, I highly recommend staying here. Don't set your expectations too high, but it delivers on all the essentials for a relaxing getaway."

"Pros: Quiet, spacious rooms, clean and tidy. Cons: No supermarkets nearby, you need to take a taxi to get anywhere. The hotel also doesn't provide free bottled water; you have to buy it from a vending machine. Many local families with children were there, enjoying the all-inclusive hot springs. The breakfast and dinner buffets were the same each day, with no changes in variety on the second day."

"Excellent, I almost wished I could cancel my Fuji hotel and stay here longer. This time we stayed in room 103. For transportation, the hotel offers pick-up and drop-off at the subway station. I recommend emailing the hotel with your itinerary in advance so they can pick you up promptly at Okawa Station. As for the room, everything was great except for the small toilet, weak shower pressure, and some bugs in the outdoor bath area. If you mind the low water pressure in the room, you can always use the downstairs public bath, which feels like a private onsen. For service, there's a lovely lady from Taiwan who speaks Mandarin, and other staff members communicate perfectly fine in English. The hotel's dinner was also quite good. Just a heads up, there aren't many dining options nearby; the 7-11 is about an 8-minute walk away."

"In any case, Izu-Atagawa has declined! Like a forgotten old woman, such beautiful sea views and hot springs have been abandoned! Its glory days are long gone! This inn is one of the better family-run inns in the area, but it also hired several Indians. I don't have any prejudice against them, but I just feel that the atmosphere is different when Indians are there! The elderly gentleman and lady were very kind and waited for me to have dinner every night. Only when I saw them did I feel like I was staying at a Japanese hot spring inn. I wish them good health!"
