My wife and I lodged one night at this hotel, while travelling. The room was excellent and rather large. The place is quite big, so getting from the reception to our room and vice versa was a bit complicated, also because you have to use your access pass every time you take an elevator. The receptionists are not sufficiently fluent in English, or don't speak English at all. They did not suggest that I could speak German instead. The breakfast was very nice, with ample choice. The dinner procedure was a bit special... we gave our room number at the restaurant entrance desk and made our choices from the menu. There was no bill or receipt at the end and no signature asked. When I asked the restaurant personnel for the bill, they didn't understand. The drinks, in our case a bottle of wine, were provided by the bar in the room next to the restaurant. Personnel is not taking the drinks order, you have to go to the bar yourself and order it there and you can only pay by card, they do not accept cash. On checkout, next morning, I could pay for the dinner, but only by card, because the receptionist did not have cash change, she said. I would suggest, that the hotel's management thoroughly review all customer interaction processes (reception area, restaurant, bar), because these are inefficient and sometime even unpleasant! The place itself, Karlovy Vary city centre, makes great photographs, but I would rate it 'disappointing' in terms of outdoor amenities. There are countless overpriced jewlery shops, but only a few nice restaurants and bars. If you have seen Karlovy Vary once, you don't need to see it again...

Located in an excellent location in the small town of Karlovy Vary, the hotel has a long history, standard services, and thoughtful and careful front desk and room service. The breakfast dishes are average but the service is in place. Clean and tidy. Worth recommending.

Central located in the heart of Karlovy Vary. Everything looks new, is in very good conditions and is very clean. The hotel gives you the charm and atmosphere of the old glory days. It has a lift and a water dispenser in the lobby. The breakfast room is like a five star restaurant. One negative point - breakfast starts at 8.30 am only and you are later, they might run out of several things. All in all - highly recommended!

A very big traditional hotel 100 years old , in a very nice location but not in center . A funicular going to center of town but only till 1900 . The hotel is not air conditioned , so very hot in summer . Rooms are big and nice with great views. Breakfast buffet good. Spa treatments and indoor pool .parking 20 euros a day . Service ok but not friendly , maybe something of the local tradition. English speaking partly .

My experience at this hotel was bad. To start with: 1. Hotel credit card machine was not working. So everything had to be paid with cash. Who would expect to be walking around with 15,000 - 20,000 kronor in cash?? Going to city center and getting the cash cost us an extra $85 in transaction fees and poor conversion rates. 2. Being a small town and boutique hotel, very few people speak English. We made an appointment and went to the spa at the time. It was our first experience in a ”salt cave”. Nobody to tell us what to do. We lost about 10 minutes in this experience, but had to pay full price. Same thing with the mineral bath. Lost few minutes because there was nobody to guide us, but had to pay full price. Finally at check out time, we were told that their credit card system is not working for a month!!!. If that was the case, the hotel should have informed the guests in ADVANCE so that we would have made alternate arrangements. As for the hotel itself, it is a very nice property and enjoyable if the hotel can do a better job.

My stay at the Astoria Hotel was absolutely wonderful. Located right on the colonnade, you're in for a real treat - I was lucky enough to have a breathtaking view of the historic Karlovy Vary! :) The staff was incredibly kind and friendly, providing us with great recommendations on what to do in the city. The room was beautiful and clean. The breakfast selection was rich and satisfying. I wholeheartedly recommend it for a romantic weekend getaway or a rejuvenating family stay. :)

Very very average. Unfortunately cannot understand the positive reviews at all. Personal is very friendly, but unfortunately not at all on zack in the restaurant. The hotel is very nice and our rooms are pleasantly large. Rusticly furnished, but fit overall. The ”spa area” is very small and unfortunately opened only from 16-22 clock, so the hotel guests stack there at 16:00. There are 2 saunas (Finnish and herbal) and a room with foot-switching baths. And then another kind of ”sal” room with garden chairs, probably a salt cave. And where is the cozy rest room?! The evening buffet with live music was the grey! The music was too loud, You couldn't have all the time talking about dinner. Just unbelievable. That's something we've never experienced. As it's going with the drinks, it was also unclear. The young employees have never made an establishment to offer us something. The dinner buffet was very simple and minimalistic and that for €19. So very bad. Breakfast was also not spectacular, but for everyone something at it. Even on request gluten free bread! Unfortunately, the staff was not very attention. The tables were only partially covered. In the middle the self-service area was incl. Drink machine. I think that this is not possible at all to do itself in a snake across the restaurant area, to swallow a low-quality hot drink. Unfortunately, empty food containers were filled by the staff only on demand. Cut fruit has missed completely. Very bad. We don't have to have it again.

HHLIUUpon arrival, you need to contact the hotel to get your password, and the staff will reply quickly.
There is an elevator in the hotel, but the location of the room needs to be the lower half of the stairs after taking the elevator. It is inconvenient for people with luggage, but fortunately, only half of the stairs are needed. The equipment in the room is very complete and there is a warm feeling.
The hotel is located near the station and can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot to the hot spring corridor.

TTHOMASFROMDAMASCUSThe Carlsbad Plaza Medical Spa and Wellness Hotel is located at the very beginning of the original “Hot Springs District” of Karlovy Vary. It is a five-star superior resort hotel and was an outstanding stay for my wife and I. It must be listed as one of the best Medical Spa and Wellness Resorts in all of Karlovy Vary as during our six days stay, we stopped by many of the other Hot Springs Hotel’s, and none could match the size and number of therapies offered by the: Carlsbad Plaza Medical Spa and Wellness Hotel. Our check-in was fast and professional, and we were given a Garden Room, which had access to a smoking area within the considerable size garden. On our first morning we had set up our doctor’s consultation session and we noted all the therapies she suggested for both my wife and I. So that same afternoon we started what became the most enjoyable part of our entire stay. Our therapies included the following: CO2 Bath Treatment; Oxygen Therapy; Classic Massage; Reflex Massages, etc. They also had a large Hot Spring Pool, with two types of Jacuzzi Tubs and a typical Steam Room. Each morning, we enjoyed a large Breakfast Buffet, which had a wide assortment of foods and drinks. The Carlsbad Plaza is a short two-minute walk to the famous Karlovy Vary Promenade. If you are looking for a fantastic Health Spa and Wellness Center you need not look any further and simply book your next stay at the Carlsbad Plaza, you will not be sorry, trust me…

GGuest UserStayed here for a few nights for work during the 57th Karlovy Vary Film Festival. I liked this hotel although it was pretty hard to judge it properly as the entire place was PACKED due to the film festival with all areas and many floors of the hotel being used by companies and displays. It is a bit of an oddity in Karlovy Vary as it's a modern 15 floor tower / conference centre in a town full of Czech old world buildings (I can only imagine the uproar when they planned it). So it's a hotel that also has Spa / Medical Treatment / Swimming pool, thermal pool / pool party / conference centre and restaurants. It seems to be modern by local standards - I was in a superior room with a balcony on the 13th floor with great views. The room had all the mod cons available in most decent hotels, good wi-fi, USB Power outlets, nice firm bed, good regular housekeeping. One thing I noticed was that the beds didn't have a separate sheet, only a fitted sheet and then a throw over dooner - no big deal, just different. Downstairs restaurant doing breakfast / lunch / dinner with a lot of options and really good wait staff. There's a large separate building (accessed by hill climbing elevator) that has an outdoor heated pool, thermal pool, saunas, change facilities - there was also a Pool Party with DJ, bar etc on the weekend days / nights (I assume that's just in summer or just during the film festival). I believe you get complimentary access to the pools /saunas for a couple of hours every day of your stay - I used it every morning for laps, it was great. In the pool complex there's also a decent restaurant with amazing views. As I said, the place was packed and the staff all seemed to handle it well. Everything you could want outside the hotel is a short walk away and there's SO many restaurants / bars etc to choose from. Karlovy Vary wasn't on my list of places to visit, but now that I've been there I'd consider going back.

Perfect hotel service with very friendly and always helpful staff. Family friendly approach, wellness and sauna world ready to use throughout the day The hotel manager and golf receptionist are very flexible and helpful. The golf course has always been beautifully landscaped, the fairway in top condition despite the dry season. Greens well rolled, speed optimal. It will be a pleasure to return.

GGuest UserWie immer zuerst die Anreise: Anreise per Bahn ganz gut, man muss nur vom Bahnhof über die Brücke Richtung Zentrum gehen. Das Hotel kann man dabei schon von der nächsten großen Busstation sehen ( vom Kreisel aus rechts gesehen). Das Hotel an sich ist vom Design her interessant. Prozeduren wie Massagen und ähnliches sind, je nachdem was man bei der Buchung wählt, ganz nett. Der Saunabereich ist etwas zu klein geraten. Etwas zu klein geraten ist auch der Speisesaal, weniger vom Platz her, als von Platz an den Speisen. Fazit: Vom Ambiente her interessant, die Entspannungsprozeduren sind auch nicht schlecht, jedoch fallen immer wieder Kleinigkeiten auf, die alleine nicht so schlimm sind, jedoch in der Masse her etwas störend wirken. Zum Entspannen für eine Woche aber akzeptabel.

TTo BThe hotel ist literally in the city center, old part. We had a deluxe apartment, with tho WCs, two bedrooms, one huge living room, sauna and jacuzzi. For the price they request - probably the best value. There is breakfast with not too bad choice. Pay attention of the parking spaces - in a 10 min walking distance can be parked for free
