"Excellent hotel! We stayed here for one night during our honeymoon, and it was just perfevt. The staff were extremely friendly and kind, giving us a nice welcome and even flowers for our honeymoon. We had rented one room with an outside courtyard, and they even gave us the option to check other rooms to see which was our favorite. Our room had a Southeast Asian style courtyard with a wonderful soaking tub. Truly a 10/10 stay all around. The hotel is also excellently located for exploring the center of Kunming, with great shopping and food within short walking distance. Highly recommend!"

This time, I chose the InterContinental for our family trip to Kunming. The hotel boasts a beautiful garden-style environment near Dianchi Lake, with stunning greenery perfect for a leisurely stroll. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding comfortable, and the breakfast offered a rich variety of options. Overall, the facilities met the InterContinental's five-star standards. I especially want to highlight the hotel's service! After checking out, I realized I had left a sentimental bracelet in the room. I was incredibly anxious at the time. With a glimmer of hope, I contacted the front desk. The staff member was incredibly patient, meticulously verified the item details and room information, and immediately coordinated with the housekeeping department to conduct a thorough search. Before long, I received the good news: my bracelet had been found! The staff carefully verified and confirmed the item, kept it safe, and helped arrange for its return shipping. To have it returned after being lost filled me with immense gratitude. This small incident truly showcased the hotel staff's sense of responsibility, professionalism, and integrity. When traveling, it's truly rare to have a valuable lost item returned. Whether it was the front desk or the housekeeping team, they handled the situation efficiently and reliably, calming my concerns throughout the entire process. The experience was excellent from start to finish."

"We stayed at Kunming PAPMAN Hotel Wanda for our first night in Kunming, and honestly, it was by far the best hotel of our entire stay. We only stayed for one night and didn’t have a chance to explore the surrounding area, but the hotel itself was exceptional. The hotel occupies two floors within a larger building, so there isn’t direct access to the hotel lobby from the ground floor. However, the hotel contacted us in advance with clear instructions on where to meet them at the car park. The staff came down to meet us, helped with all our luggage and brought us up to the lobby. This could have been an inconvenience, but the level of service completely made up for it. The staff were incredibly attentive, warm and genuinely went above and beyond from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is beautifully designed. Every corner was thoughtfully decorated and incredibly photogenic, and the overall aesthetic was stylish without compromising on comfort. Even our room was beautifully designed, comfortable and very well equipped, with lots of thoughtful amenities included. The views from the hotel were also lovely. Unfortunately, it was raining during our stay, so we didn’t get to properly enjoy or photograph the rooftop pool, which was a little disappointing — but it gives us another reason to come back! One of our favourite additions was the photoshoot. The hotel was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to arrange a much earlier photoshoot slot because we were short on time. The experience was so good that we ended up purchasing additional photos beyond the three included with our room. It was such a fun and memorable experience. Our room rate also included afternoon tea, although we arrived at night and unfortunately didn’t have the opportunity to try it. However, supper was included and was honestly one of the highlights. It was a combination of semi-buffet and made-to-order dishes, with a surprisingly good variety. Everything we tried was delicious, and there was more than enough food. It was such a nice and unexpected inclusion, especially after travelling all day. We were also celebrating our child’s birthday during our stay, and the hotel had thoughtfully prepared a birthday cake and a little present for him in advance. It was such a sweet and thoughtful touch, and really made us feel welcomed and looked after❤️ Overall, we were genuinely impressed by this hotel. From the beautiful design and comfortable rooms to the incredible service, thoughtful inclusions, photoshoot and birthday surprise, everything felt very well thought out. The service in particular really stood out — the staff were attentive, friendly and incredibly helpful throughout our short stay. We only stayed one night and didn’t leave the hotel during our stay, so unfortunately we can’t comment much on the surrounding area or its convenience for exploring Kunming. But based purely on our experience at the hotel, we would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it."

Since we had a large group, the hotel arranged several cars for our airport transfer and even called in the morning to remind us. The lobby was spacious with a good variety of teas. Overall, it was a fantastic stay! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kunming!"

"I was on a business trip in Yunnan and had a layover at Kunming Changshui Airport when I stumbled upon the City Mark Hotel, which turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Its proximity to the airport is fantastic – less than six kilometers away. We only found out upon arrival that the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service. After a quick call, a car was there to pick us up within ten minutes, which was incredibly convenient. The hotel service is excellent, with complimentary tea, drinks, and even ice cream available in the lobby. The staff were warm and attentive, and they even upgraded our room when we checked in. The room itself was spacious, spotless, and equipped with smart amenities. The surrounding area also has plenty of conveniences, from authentic Yunnan restaurants to souvenir shops. Overall, it’s great value for money! I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I fly through Kunming."

When I checked in, a staff member brought a set of toiletries and small slippers for my child. I booked the cheapest twin room, and I didn't expect any special perks, but when I entered the room, I found fruit and snacks prepared by the hotel. In the evening, a staff member came to deliver goji berry and tremella soup along with three kinds of fruit. So thoughtful! The room's soundproofing was excellent, making for a very quiet night's sleep."

The breakfast is abundant; two of us couldn't even finish it all. We received complimentary welcome fruits upon arrival, and they kindly extended our check-out time when we left, thanks to the wonderful housekeeper ladies! A pleasant surprise was that they subscribe to several major video streaming services, so even if it rained and we couldn't go out, we wouldn't be bored in the hotel. The only downside is that the room is a bit small; it was difficult to open two suitcases at the same time. Overall, the stay was a great experience."

"The advantages are that the common areas are very spacious, and there's a cafe that's open all day, perfect for organizing events or working alone. The hostel also hosts different activities daily, creating a great atmosphere. It seems like takeout food needs to be eaten in the outdoor common area. Slippers, water, toiletries, etc., are provided, and the slippers are convenient for showering. The front desk is on the first floor. You need to take the stairs to the third floor to reach the cafe and the elevator to the rooms. The location is excellent, right near the subway station, and within walking distance of Cuihu Lake and Kunming Old Street. The downsides are that the whole place is quite old. The elevator and laundry room are old and dim. You can tell the cleaning staff cleans frequently, but the mold and black stains in the bathroom and toilet just won't come off. Occasionally, there's still a sewer smell. The bunk beds for sleeping are good and look quite new. Each floor has a few rooms, one shower, and two toilets. If the shower on my floor is occupied, I'd go up or down a floor to shower, but I still worry about there not being enough showers when it's busy. Also, although the shower looks like it has a wet/dry separation, the curtain doesn't stop the water from spraying out, so the floor ends up completely wet – a bit of a shame. However, having a chair and hooks is much more convenient!"
