"This guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of Huanggang Dong Village's 'CBD,' right next to Gaoluo Drum Tower. You can reach it just by walking past the lotus pond. The room was very clean, and the air conditioning worked great. It had a private bathroom with a toilet, and while the bathroom was small, it was fully equipped. The owner was incredibly welcoming and proactively helped us carry our suitcases up to the second floor when he saw us arrive! Since it's a wooden building and close to the drum tower, the sound insulation isn't the best. Guests who are light sleepers might want to bring earplugs."

"Xiage Rice Terraces is definitely a paradise hidden in the Qiangui Plateau, allowing us to enjoy a rare sense of comfort during the congested National Day holiday. Choosing Biyin B&B next to the terraces is the best decision for this holiday. In the early morning, white clouds cover the mountains, the morning sun shines brightly, the golden ears of rice are rising in waves, the farmers are hoeing and the fields are deserted, and the chickens and dogs are chasing the sun in the fields. Walking on the paths in the fields, the fragrance of rice fills your nostrils, orchids compete with each other; frogs chirp in harmony, and birds fly back and forth. The children were chasing and playing on the Long River, nodding and greeting the visitors, passing by, taking away the hustle and bustle of the world, as if time had frozen. Under the setting sun, the fields are filled with water, and the afterglow is dyed; red and orange are intertwined, and yellow and green are new. The black ridges separate the colorful fields, like fingerprints on the earth, imprinting the thousand-year wisdom of the descendants of the Yan and Huang Dynasties among the mountains and rivers. The boss went directly to the high-speed rail station to pick me up. I rented an electric car to go up the mountain, but I was afraid it was not strong enough, so I changed to a motorcycle with the boss. At night, I also invited friends to have dinner together. They invited me and Qingge to have dinner. All friends were very enthusiastic. They introduced the local culture to us. In the end, they seemed to be half drunk. We have made an appointment to come back in September when the rice fields are golden. Friends said they would take me to catch crabs and fish. The fish we ate tonight were all caught by the boss himself in the river. Friends are from Zhaoxing Dong Village. You must stay here."

"The landlady sang Dong folk songs exceptionally well, and generously sang for us, even taking us to see their granary and livestock shed. Huanggang is very quiet; even during the May Day holiday, there weren't many people. Because it's a very pristine minority village deep in the mountains, you can't expect too much from hygiene and the environment—the point of going is to experience authentic, unspoiled life. The room was a bit dim for the children to study in, so the landlady went to borrow a brighter light from elsewhere. The people here don't seem to want to leave the village; they settle down and live here, so the people are very kind and honest. Staying here is a wonderful Dong village experience."
