"The staff were really nice, but the food, terrible. Breakfast was very simple, not so many options. Asked the waitress, if they had nuts or popcorn, to eat with the drink, but they do not. Our room neighbors, was singing and yelling, until 3am, we contacted the reception and they did nothing. Also, on saturday, there was a wedding happening at the pool, music very loud we couldn’t sleep, and my fiancée had Ironman on the next day. Definitely not coming back. Oro Verde hotel it’s so much better!"

"Unlike much of Ecuador, you won’t be kept up all night with people screaming and booming speakers. You will wake up to the sounds of birds and nearby monkeys of three species (that I saw). The staff makes all the difference. Johnny and his wife Fabiola are excellent hosts! They are both incredibly congenial and accommodating! Fabiola is an excellent cook too! The only problem that I had here was the internet. It is only available in the dining room and even there is much slower than others in the area. This could easily and cheaply be fixed by installing a few cheap Wi-Fi extenders (buy from Amazon and mule them in. Don't by the junk they sell in Ecuador). I travel with a high powered Wi-Fi antenna and it still wasn't sufficient to get a signal from my room."

"The infrastructure is old. There has been some maintenance but not nearly enough. There is no hot water. The window frames do not meet the wall, thus there is a one inch gap where wind and noise gets thru. The safety deposit box does not work either. Towels? You get one per person, and that is it. Beach towels are not towels but only pieces of cloth. Beeakfast is adequate: unexceptional. There is a lot of security: armed guard at the entrance from early in the day until night. There is a rooftop but it opens at 6 pm. So not much to enjoy in terms of day views. At night the rooftop was ok with food and drinks and loud music and interesting characters and …what appeared to be underage kids. They have no shuttle service to and from the airport, but they will send you a taxi The beach is not great, and it has a city smell. Will no be coming back here"
