"I enjoyed the excellent service, comfortable bed, warm shower, clean linen and toiletries. However, I have to close my eyes to the fluff around the walls as the room is never vacuumed properly and the windows and sills are filthy. The TV worked, I did not need to use the heater or air conditioner and the bathroom with basin, toilet and shower were clean. The rate is excellent and really, overall, I am not complaining - I did not get hay fever whilst staying and there were plenty of tissues if I did begin sneezing."

"Overall a good location as there are 2 tram stops just a quick 3 to 5 mins walk away from the apartment. There is a minimart and 7-11 just downstairs, convenient for picking up necessities. The apartment was quite big and had very useful amenities like a washer, dryer and fully equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher and big fridge. Unfortunately, the air-conditioner wasn't the best for me as it was a standing type located near the window in the living room. Despite adjusting to the lowest temperature and highest fan speed, the bedroom was still quite warm. Body wash, shampoo, hair conditioner and towels were provided but not toothbrush, comb or bottled water. There was a kettle provided but I would prefer having bottled water provided daily. I was also surprised that housekeeping was not provided for my 5-nights stay. Fresh towels can be requested by hanging a sign on the door before 8 am. Generally a good stay but do note that the reception counter is not open 24 hours, so if you arrive outside these timings, separate arrangements should probably be pre-arranged."

"A historic hotel. The room we booked was large and had a vintage feel to it; we stayed for four nights. Every staff member we encountered from the moment we walked in was very polite. Room service was also very quick. The only downside was that the two cleanings during our stay were not very thorough: only the bathroom towels and trash bags were replaced, but the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned, and the sheets weren't changed. One evening, there was also a sudden power outage in the neighborhood, and our room was plunged into darkness instantly. We had to feel our way downstairs in the dark—it would have been better if the hotel had offered some form of compensation."

"I stayed at Ibis Budget Melbourne CBD recently. As the name suggests, it’s a budget hotel, so expectations should be modest. The biggest strength is definitely the location — right in the heart of the city, with easy access to trams, Flinders Street Station, and plenty of shops and restaurants. However, I did encounter some concerns with cleanliness and housekeeping. On one occasion, my linens and bedsheet had visible yellow stains that looked like old pee stains. I requested a replacement, but honestly, linens in that condition should already be disposed of. There were also two separate instances when my linens and towels were not replaced at all, which was disappointing. Service was generally okay, and staff were responsive when approached, but consistency in housekeeping needs attention. Overall, it’s fine if you’re after affordability and location, but improvements in cleanliness would make the stay much more comfortable."

"We originally only booked for two nights, but this place was so fantastic that we kept extending our stay and ended up staying for six nights in total 🥹 - Environment: The room was very clean, and the cleanliness was impeccable. There were absolutely no noise issues; it was very quiet, and we couldn't hear any noise from other guests. The elevator was super fast, so we never had to wait long. - Location: It's right next to the Bourke St tram stop, which makes getting into the CBD very convenient. - Parking: There's an indoor parking garage in the same building, making it easy to load and unload luggage. - Amenities: The room was fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, capsule coffee machine, and all sorts of toiletries. - Service: We encountered three different front desk staff members, and all of them were incredibly friendly. Any questions we had were answered quickly via message or email. Hope to have the chance to visit again! 💖"

"This was such a disappointing experience, especially since I’d chosen this hotel to celebrate our anniversary—and it completely ruined the special occasion. While parts of the room seemed okay, the bathroom floor and entryway were noticeably dirty when we arrived. We also weren’t given the room type we specifically requested. Basic promised amenities—two bottles of water and slippers—were missing entirely. Worst of all, they wrongfully kept my deposit, which feels like being stolen from. I didn’t get the nice, memorable stay I hoped for at all."

"no-one cleaned or refilled coffee cups, sugar etc. Milk in the fridge was open and half used, probably from last occupier. No extra toilet roll. 2 supplied on hook but one was nearly empty. no clean sheets. When asked a cleaner for hot chocolate she gave me 2 only. No sugar etc. We asked for late check out. it was given day before - no problems. Staff knocked on door at 11.45 asking when we were going? Next at 12.30 staff opened door without knocking and walked in. No apologies just turned and walked out ater being told for the second time our check out was 1.00pm. Now i check my bill and i have been charged for chocolate, chips etc - 1 - no-one refilled or asked to refill them. They were and still are sitting in the same place where they put them. For a 4/5 star hotel and we are members, we found this unacceptable. We asked questions at reception about crown and he told us he cant help us at all. make a phone call. Not very helpful or apologetic. Have used Crown in Perth numerous times - wonderful, fantastic. But i must say - Melbourne was a big let down."
