"Cosy Ryokan walkable to Iya Valley Vine bridge although it may be steep at the entry/exit slope for elderly n those with mobility issues. The stay was comfortable and relaxing. Public bath was a little small but nonetheless enjoyable. Food wasn't luxurious but showcased their local seasonal eats. If you are driving and only staying overnight , I would suggest packing an overnighter and leaving the big suitcase in the boot as the poor staff will have to lug them up steep staircases to bring to your room. There is free coffee and also a vending machine next to lobby area. There is a small courtyard to chill after dinner and look at the stars after dark. The Futon can be a little thicker as those not used to sleeping on tatami may wake with a stiffer back. It's not a deal breaker though, will still recc the Ryokan if you are planning on staying in the area and enjoying the famous Japanese hospitality."

"The room was clean and well equipped. I checked in late, but they accepted me. Thank you very much. I also wanted to catch the first train, so it was really helpful that it was close to the station! Next time, I'd definitely like to visit the surrounding shops and hot springs!"

"Environment: The hotel is right by the lake, surrounded by clouds and mist, and the breakfast area looks like a fairyland. Service: Two bags of biscuits and mineral water are given when you check in, and there is also free coffee. Hygiene: Change shoes when you enter the hotel lobby. Although the hotel is not new, it is very clean. Facilities: Not new, but all good to use"

"Close to train station a few minutes away. Nearby many restaurants with covered walkway. Only 5 minutes to a big supermarket. The room is big for a small family and certainly big for couple. They have onsen room for bathing and heater which come handy during our stay below 10 degrees of temperature. Buses and trains are convenient to move around to tourist sites.. While we were away, the host will leave biscuits and titbits for our 3 nights stay."
