"This hotel in the Iceland highlands is an exceptional property. We were blessed with great weather, clear skies, and a lovely view of the Aurora Borealis! The rooms are very nice, the beds good, and the views from the back of each room are spectacular. The restaurant is very good and the included breakfast is excellent. There are choices for all dietary needs. The lounge in the front of the guesthouse has facilities for coffee and tea along with comfortable seating areas. In addition to the generally excellent facilities, local tour options include 4x4 excursions. A great place to stay!!!"

"Well, overall, not so great. The pre-checking info was scant—no phone number in case of difficulties, for example, and there was no sign on the premises, so I wandered around for awhile before deciding which building was the guesthouse/hostel. The bed was okay, the kitchen had cooking equipment in it, but I never did find the trash. The house was in the middle of a farm field. Facilities were clean, but the finish work on the new? construction was poor."

"The hotel has a shared kitchen, the kitchen has a refrigerator, but the refrigerator is too cold to freeze things, the town is very beautiful, the room is very clean, but the wash basin is a bit small, the bathing place is not very big, but enough, the stove is not warm enough, it will still feel frozen at night. The hotel's restaurant is delicious and close to the Rainbow Church."

"We stayed here for one night and were given one out of the two bigger cabins. When we arrived, we were shocked that the door had been left open the whole day, leading to there being more than 100 flies everywhere. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were all infested with flies and we simply could not get rid of them. The rooms were also not in the best condition, and were not very clean. I’m not sure if anyone else had this experience here, but the price was too high for this quality."

"This was my favorite place we stayed in Iceland, which is saying a lot considering the other wonderful properties we visited. This is like a tiny village set far back in the country. As we drove in, a herd of long horned goats were trotting down the road, and Tova the Fjalladyrd reindeer came to greet us when we pulled in. The lovely sod buildings and church added to the charm. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. They offer several traditional Icelandic recipes on the menu, such as Moss Soup, farm raised lamb, reindeer, and cod. I don't know that I would want to eat Moss Soup everyday, but it was a great experience to try it. Breakfast was very good the next morning. Our family group of five stayed in the large cabin. We were very comfortable. The only thing that would have made our stay even better is if there was a bathroom on the 2nd floor where most of the bedrooms were located. But we so enjoyed our stay that we considered that a mild inconvenience to walk downstairs for the restroom. Absolutely lovely setting, friendly service, lovely historic buildings all made this a wonderful, memorable stay!"

"I stayed here specifically to see the puffins; it wasn't cheap. Showers are communal, but you have your own sink for brushing your teeth. The view from the window was nice, especially the spectacular sunsets in summer. The gravel path in front of the entrance made dragging suitcases inconvenient. If you're driving, you might consider staying further out for a cheaper option."

"It is a bit far from the nearest town. The road trip getting there is rather frightening with cliff edge road nearer to the resort. It is located in a quiet town with just one grocery shop that opens only in the afternoon for a few hours. The apartment was well stocked with kitchen facilities and toys for kids. The 2 room apartment has twin room downstairs and double upstairs. Bathromm is next to double room upstairs. The bathroom shower does not drain very well, the kerb does not prevent the water from flowing out of the cubicle. Using the squeegee it takes at least 10 push to drain the water. The main door handle was not tightened properly so we managed to pull it out when we tried to open the door. The mattress was a bit soft from what we are used to. It is near the Borgarfjorour, to watch Puffins, 7 minutes drive. Staff were friendly from check-in staff to restaurant service staff. Try their locally brewed beer."
