"The best thing about this hotel is its incredibly convenient location. You can see the JR entrance right from your room, which is perfect for those catching early morning day trips (many tour groups meet right by the JR ticket gates). Plus, when you return in the evening, you're right by all the restaurants at the JR station. The room itself is quite small, but the breakfast spread is excellent."

"The hotel's distance from Nagano JR station is decent. On our first day, it snowed, and navigation led us down a difficult side road. I'd recommend sticking to the main road; it's quite convenient and not much further. Overall, the environment is good, and the service is excellent. They also have a Kaiseki restaurant on the top floor."

"Awkward is the word I would use to describe our recent stay, I understand this isn’t a hotel, and hotel service should not be expected. However, given the price differential between staying at a traditional stay such as Yakouin, and staying in a similar, self-served AirBnB, I don’t think the price is justified. Better explanations about the service, including having a welcome sheet in English would be a great start, as this place is listed on international travel sites, it’s important to make international travellers feel welcome in the stay. Was also disappointed to see Foreign guests had to pay a deposit for the room, but noticed Japanese guests didn’t have to pay a deposit."
