"Not the expectation expected. Food not very nice. Bland. The facilities were rather tight for the shower room. Toilet dirty"

Travelodge Birmingham Oldbury ★★★

"I was going to another hotel but while I was in the taxi the hotel called me and said the room was double booked so without hesitation I told the taxi driver to take me to the Travelodge oldbury Birmingham ...I arrived 10 minutes later. The manager in charge (which I later found out was called Julia could see I was a little stressed out) The other place has taken payment by card and so my card wouldn't have enough cash to make a online payment ....even though the Travelodge prefers online payments i explained my situation and julia sorted me a room for two people quickly .I was given my key and fob entry key and made my way to the room as always the room was spotless the beds and room smelt like I was the first person to stay with my partner Joanne ,on the beds were two fluffy large towels for the bath shower and 2smaller hand towels .the bathroom was like the main bedroom spotless a real credit to the housekeeping staff . Tia from housekeeping you did an amazing job I couldn't fault it the drinks tray was full uht milk and my favourite single use pj tips sugar Joanne and I are big tea drinkers but there also was coffee and decaffeinated as well brown sugar twinings everyday ...one little minor thing there was no hot chocolate fear not I always travel with a tub of galaxy hot chocolate anyway .maybe something to put in place at a later date .my partner arrived 2 hours later (and alicza knocked on my room door afternoon reception to tell me Joanne was waiting in reception I then asked Alicza if I could get some more teabags milk and sugar ...it took me about 3 minutes to get to reception and to my surprise Joanne and our bag full of beverages was waiting for us ⭐🌟⭐🌟💫 top class service right there .we had the best night sleep for a long time the hotel is so quite we slept like logs .. The next morning we went for a walk and asked Lili may on reception if we could have fresh sheets and towels and to top the beverage tray up she smiled and said she would get it straight away ,we were gone about 30 minutes . We thought it would take the housekeeping staff more than the allotted time Lili may with a big smile told us our room was ready ..Tia again your service and professional attitude is second to none the room again was spotless we had the best stay ever and left feeling relaxed . I'm surprised the hotel is only 2🌟🌟s from our experience easily a 3 ⭐⭐⭐ if not 4💫🌟⭐💫 hotel the manager and her staff are so attentive and nothing was a problem I've stayed at other travelodges and sometimes we've been disappointed this was our 2nd stay ....and you lady's all need a pay rise well done you go above and beyond ......will be seeing you soon thank you all at Travelodge oldbury Birmingham"
