"This pensão is in the heart of the old town, a couple of steps from the market and right beside the best breakfast in town – the Olho da Ria. It's a lovely old building whose one drawback is the very very steep flights of stairs between the floors. The street is not accssible by vehicle, which makes the place nice and quiet. My room was simple, clean and cool. Staff were more than helpful and there is a lovely cheerful atmosphere to the place, largely thanks to them. And very reasonably priced!"

"Overall, the room was small but lovely, and the facilities were fairly modern! There was a swimming pool, and the breakfast was quite good! The only issue was that the air conditioner kept turning on and off automatically; I'm not sure if it was due to the temperature setting or for energy conservation and carbon reduction purposes."

"Terrible. The photos are misleading, the doors feel flimsy, and it's located on the 3rd floor of an abandoned industrial building, which is quite eerie. We didn't like it at all. After checking in, we didn't return, and we didn't get our money back either. It felt very unsafe."

"We had a wonderful stay at Octanta Villas and cannot say enough about the incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. A special thank you to the team for their amazing help when I arrived back at the hotel after a day of sightseeing with a sprained ankle. They stepped in immediately to assist me, showing genuine care and helpfulness that truly saved my holiday. While there was some minor noise due to ongoing renovations, it was handled professionally and didn’t truly interfere with our relaxation. The quality of service and the kindness of the staff more than made up for it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a personal touch and top-tier service!"

"This our fifth stay at this hotel and it never fails to impress. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is exceptional and all the staff are wonderful. The hotel is not by the sea but inland about a 10 minute drive - Faro airport is about 20 minutes away, which makes it a quiet place to relax and unwind. We would recommend eating in the restaurant at night as the menu is varied and beautifully presented. All together an outstanding hotel: a real gem."

"It is a very beautiful place, but the owners manage with volunteers instead of hiring employees. Although the volunteers are friendly, during my conversation with them, I learned that they and the animals are treated badly. When you think about how hygienically can a volunteer clean your sheets and makes your bed, question marks remain in your mind. I'm sorry for the volunteers who had a bad experience there."

"Two nights, the last stop on our cycling tour. Nice hotel, the owner and restaurant staff were very friendly. The room wasn't very big, but the beds, storage, and bathroom were adequate. The pool was lovely, but overrun with smokers, as was the terrace, which prevented us from having breakfast or reading there. Dinner was simple and plentiful. Breakfast was decent, but some items could be better (muesli, industrial jams in small plastic jars); however, the bread was good and the owner's pastries were excellent. We had a massage in the room, and they had to move everything to set up the table; the massage seemed very short. The only real problem with the hotel, for cyclists, is its location: quiet, it's true, but far from everything! There's nothing to see nearby, and to visit Olhão and the islands, it takes an hour downhill and an hour and a half uphill (unless you take the main road, which is too dangerous). A big thank you to the team for the surprise birthday cake!"
