"The hotel is directly opposite the JR station, accessible via a pedestrian overpass. A ferry terminal is right downstairs. There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it a very convenient location in town. The staff can communicate in English, and daily housekeeping is provided. They also deliver water, biscuits, and jelly every day. There's a free massage chair available on every floor's elevator lobby. Guests get a discount at the second-floor restaurant, which is quite a good deal. The cleanliness is generally acceptable, but some details are lacking, like a layer of dust on the humidifier."

"A stylish hotel with comfortable beds, a shared kitchen, and enclosed bike parking. The only downside is that the men's restroom is on the first floor, while all the rooms are on the second floor. Going to the restroom is very inconvenient, especially at night."

"The servicev of this hotel is unspeakable. I was there with a friend for the Shimanami Kaido, but Got a nerve trapped and had to rest. I booked a single Room for a night but later decided I needed 2 nights for recovery. I had to change Room from a double to a single Room - and the reception made it clear to me that I had booked for 3 nights 1 + 2 nights - not alterer the original booking from 1 to 2 nights. I made it clear i Only needed 2 nights as my friend returned. The hotel Said itcwould be ok - but when I looked at my bank account 3 nights were charged. When I mentioned that to the reception they Said they did not do a refund - but I would rater have used my Room for a pieceful night of sleep and so would my friend than being ripped of by a greedy hotel."

"I absolutely loved this little hotel! All of the front desk staff were extremely helpful to me. The staff was kind & pleasant always & went the extra mile with friendly, helpful service. I was here for the Shimanami Kaido trail & I changed my travel plans so I could come back and stay at this hotel for two more nights at the end of my ride. I really did not want to leave. I love that the hotel is on the second floor of the train station. The hotel elevator is right after you pass the fare gates. This location made getting around to other cities in the area much more convenient. I did not mind the trains passing through the station. I did not hear the trains and slept through the night very peacefully and comfortably. I was sad to leave. I will be back. Thank you to the front desk staff for a great stay! ❤️❤️❤️"

"It was a warm oasis after I was soaked by the rain while riding. It was an old building but very clean and well maintained. I walked through the beautiful courtyard to the public bathroom on the first floor (open at 4:30 pm and 6:30 am). Although it was small, it had surfing massage and was reserved so it was very refreshing. The dinner was unexpectedly delicious. Except for the 8-inch dish which was a bit ordinary, every dish after that tasted amazing. The female waiter was very beautiful and the cashier was very quick. I checked out quickly and caught the bus to Sunset Beach to borrow a bicycle for the next day."

"It is very close to Senkoji Temple and it takes a little time to walk from JR station. The hot spring is relatively simple, just a hot spring. There is a sink in the room, but there is no toilet. The toilet is in the corridor, which is a little inconvenient. Overall it's pretty good."

"Amazing Minatoya Cafe, bar and restaurant attached to the boutique hotel - Soil. Specialising in woodfire cooked meats and vegetables and striving to incorporate many local ingredients in their dishes. Small and larger dishes were all great for sharing. We tried many dishes including dessert, and we loved everything. Very high quality food - especially enjoyed the woodfired pork dish. The red and white wines were also very good. We only speak English but the lovely young staff were great. Our waiter introduced each dish, explaining the local ingredients and discussing the wines and local Onomichi craft beer made with Oranges! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Breakfast the next morning was very yummy too. Thank you, we had a great stay at Soil."
